Emile: The Helpful Octopus - from Tomi Ungerer, winner of the Hans Christian Andersen Award for Illustration

I glanced at this picture book while browsing the shop of a Dallas art museum. THe illustrations made me smile, so later when my grandson’s birthday approached, I ordered it. Unfortunately the storyline is not as captivating as the pictures.

My absolute favorite book from when I was little. I can't tell you how many times I checked it out of the library. I have a new niece and was excited to see it back in print. Love it.

Beautiful art

I love the illustrations. But I hate this book. I wish I had known there would be mention of gun violence and people shooting at people. Soooo not appropriate for children.
