Please don’t purchase. Not a quality bit at all.
Item pictures is not what you get. Image shows a hardened steel bit that is machined. The item you get is a mild steel “stamped Mateo” bit that is coated in a cheap chromium finish, to include the cutting edges. (Hot dipped chrome) For a newbie this would look cute but is absolutely useless for any type of work other than possibly soft metals such as brass, aluminum, or copper. Even then I doubt that it would last long. I purchased this for all thread as it was an amazing idea rather than grinding hundreds of cuts. But I should of expected such being cheap. I returned without opening package. Will get a more expensive bit that would work. Hope this helps.

Made of potmetal - Cannot chamfer anything but soft plastic
This tool is a joke. I tried it on a stainless steel rod and the rod basically ate away at the pot metal tool. I ended up using a Dremel with a sanding drum to do what I needed it to do.This tool is made of soft pot metal and is PURE JUNK! Stay away from it. It is only able to handle soft plastics and wood. Don't use on any metal, it will simply destroy itself. This tool is garbage. Stay away!

Works as designed
We weld 1” of all thread onto trailer tongues to secure the seven pin wire. The cone is too deep to used it after they are installed. We have to use it as we cut the pieces. My only complaint is the depth of the cone. Other than that, it works well for us.

Will Not Work
Unless your bolt is really cheap soft metal, don't even try. There are pictures of metal peeling away. Must be aluminum because has absolutely no affect on any real steel or stainless threaded fastener. Better off with a file.

Junk
Used on (3) of the (8) 1/2 in. bolts I needed to chamfer in order to remove the nuts. (3) is as far as it made it before it was smoked. Great concept, terrible quality production.Spend your money on a bastard file and do it the old fashioned time tested way.
