New MegaDisc 1000 CD DVD Silver Aluminum Media Storage Case Mess-Free Holder Box with Sleeves without hanger

Bought this storage case to accommodate my sizeable CD collection. Wanted to use the jewel cases so this was a factor in my decision. Delivery was prompt and very securely packaged in a double box with the case enclosed in plastic bubble wrap with cardboard reinforcement on the top and sides. The case was in perfect condition and ready for use.So how does the unit seem? Well it looks very sturdy and well built. There are two fasteners in the font with a lock (key included) for security. As other reviewers have mentioned, the small cardboard dividers are removable as are the long ones going from top to bottom. For my purposes I removed the small dividers and kept the long sectional dividers then filled up the case. The reviews are correct in saying that approximately 150 CDs in their jewel cases fit (give or take a few). Just be sure not to cram any more than what fits comfortably or you may crack a case or two. I did not use the plastic sleeves as my CD's are in the storage case intact with the jewel cases. I did notice that standard plastic box sets fit perfectly along with single discs but I suggest that if any single disc jewel cases have those cardboard slipcases get rid of those to maximize space - besides, they are usually just decorative anyway.The cases while sturdy are a bit bigger than I expected but they do fit quite a bit inside so the question is to find a good place to put them lying down. Yes., lying down flat because of the handles on the two sides. Put the case in the upward position and you may damage a handle. Which leads to the final point - please, please follow the advice of the manufacturer and us reviewers and do not pick up the case using just one handle as the case is seriously very heavy when full so do yourselves all a favor and use both handles if you must move the thing at all to risk possible injury and breaking onw or both handles. I do not know if another of these cases can be stacked on top of the other - it seems possible but if anyone has an answer to this please let me know. IMHO this case is primarily for long term storage in a fixed location and not for transporting from room to room or outside the house for a party, gig or whatever.To reiterate this is a heavy item and must be treated as such. I may buy another but just know you need a fair amount of space to sore it.So to conclude this case seems like a good buy and I will handle with care to make it last a good long time especially since there are not a lot of options out there for CD storage for large collections. Like the old saying goes, take care of it and it will take care of you.

Made from sturdy materials and came with plenty of sleeves. This helped to cut down the size of our movie collection immensely.

This unit is designed for those with large CD and DVD collections. (Large, as in over 1000). The boxes, when locked, are very sturdy. Not meant for shipping or road-show equipment transport, but for quick access in a conditioned environment, there are no better systems. Perfect!

Product was exactly what I wanted. I had dvd cases taking up too much room. This was the perfect solution. Case is very good quality and was in perfect condition when delivered. The only I didn’t give 5 stars is that the plastic sleeves all had punch outs that had not been removed. So when I punched them out some of them ripped. But it’s a very minor issue and I’m overall very pleased.

This is my second of these cases, having filled the first up with my Blu Ray collection. They are holding up very well, granted they are not moved around a lot, just placed on the floor and opened and closed. The partitions are sturdy though, and can be re-aligned as you see fit. I have the BDs all freestanding next to each other alphabetically with the letter placards between them and the case's demarcations in the middle. They're nice to look at in an industrial sort of way; though they do need to be dusted a lot. :) Recommended. (j4.)

Nice, robust, and well-designed case.Each of the supplied sleeves can accommodate two CDs, or one CD with its jewel box’s paper insert and liner notes.The paper inserts’ info is important to me. So I can only fit 500 CDs in the case. Grrr…

Awesome case, very sturdy. I got so much in it. The only downside to it was that when I first opened it, it smelled strongly of chemicals.

I purchased this cd/dvd storage container thinking it would reduce my dvd collection and organize it. I was not disappointed with my purchase. I'll definitely be ordering another one so i can separate my movies and tv shows from my anime collection. This is a superior option to buying a bunch of cd/dvd binders, if you have a big collection and want to protect them.
