Airbox Lights 450055 Macro Softbox with Eggcrate (Black)

I tested this on 2 different, medium sized, LED lights. It fit snugly to both. It straps around the light via Velcro straps. It has a plastic "pocket" in the front to slide filter gels into. The eggcrate attaches snugly to the front. I had to let some air out to keep the front from bulging and allowing light to escape around the edges of the eggcrate. It is made of the same material that inflatable swimming toys are made of, so it's very delicate. I would take great care not to tear it when handling. It does come with instructions on how to apply a vinyl patch if it becomes punctured. Also, when inflating it, it didn't have a 'choke plate' valve to keep the air from escaping after blowing into it. I had to be fast with the cap. I purchased one to test and I'll be purchasing more.

It's easy to install and carry. I think the crate is more useful than the inflatable light itself, which in my opinion, cuts down by a stop but does not increase its softness appreciably. I guess you can't expect much as it's physics and your softness is more of function of the size of your source rather than the material it goes through! So, this soft box doesn't really increase the surface area that much, just a little more. Maybe it's me but I didn't notice a big difference in softness of the light.

It works fine, but it's goofy. Can't use it in front of a client/on a real shoot as it makes the user look like a jackass.
