Excellent value for the price!
This is an inexpensive but beautiful guitar. Plays very well and the electronics work great! Beautiful blue-green hue with strap attachment bits. The slim neck is great for my little hands. You have to expect to have to make some adjustments before it's near-perfect. I did the following to get it to my preferences:1) installed Ernie Ball silk and steel acoustic strings,2) minor adjustments to the truss (they give you the tool for that),3) tightened the tuners with a Phillips screwdriver so they don't come loose regularly,4) lowered the saddle at the bottom by simply removing the plastic strips that raised it up,5) applied Old English oil to the wood in the neck and the bridge platform,6) I also added a clear glossy pick-guard (not pictured) and a lovely strap (pictured), all from Amazon. Some considerations, as this guitar did not come perfect: - there were some spots (on the bottom and where it meets the sound hole where the gloss lacquer doesn't look even, maybe thinner in some spots (barely noticeable and doesn't affect the sound) - the white outline along the edges isn't perfect white, it looks like an aged ivory - in the white outline along the neck, there were a couple spots that look like the lacquer comes to a seam, or maybe what even could be a very straight "crack." I hate to use that word, because it does not seem as if it is coming apart or peeling in anyway, there is just a line in the lacquer. - for a thin-body guitar, this instrument seems a bit heavy - but I've never had an acoustic-electric before, only acoustics. - the saddle appears to be plastic, not bone, so it's a bit softer than I'd like.NONETHELESS, I love my guitar!

Best Kept Secret
I didn't particularly want a blue guitar. I would prefer sunburst or black. But the blue was on sale and I'm notoriously cheap, so I grabbed it. I am so impressed with this guitar (other than the color). The resonance is almost as good as the Kona K1, their standard, non-electric dreadnought, even though the body on the K2 is only three inches deep. That's a sign of intelligent guitar design. With a good amp, and playing around with the preamp, you can turn up the gain and get classic rock distortion, or you can turn up the treble and get a good finger-picking sound. Or you can just go acoustic with it, which I often do. I'm not disappointed in this guitar at all. It ships with D'Adarrio strings, which are high quality and much better than what you usually get when you buy a guitar. However, I prefer Ernie Ball Earthwoods, so I'll be changing them out sometime in the near future. It should also be noted that the action is a little high for my tastes, so I changed out the saddle to bring the action down a little. I did the same with the Kona K1 dreadnought I bought a few months ago. Their value line, which is called Mainstreet, ships acoustics with the action set up a little lower, for whatever reason. But all in all, a good guitar. I have said before in other forums that I tend to go to guitar stores and just try out guitars. I have found name brands for $400 that don't play as well as a Kona K1 or K2. Kona is the best kept secret in the guitar world today.

Surprise!
I wasn't expecting much, with such a low price. I'm pleasently surprised. Fun to play, nice deep blue finish, and came with D'Addario stings, a cable, cleaning cloth, 2 peel and stick pickguards, and a 9v bsttery. Of course some adjustments had to be made, as with most all new guitars, but once the loose ends were tied up, it played pretty well. Not gonna be an heirloom of any kind, but for knock around guitar that you don't have to worry about, it fits the bill perfectly. I would definately buy it again.

Great Value!
Love this guitar! It's a little less blue green than the picture and more blue, the wood lines are less pronounced as well, one of the tuning pegs was loose and the strings it came with were cheap and twangy (but planned on putting my own on it anyways, duh) but it sounds great, perfect size, and excited to get some use in it! Didn't check it out well but one of my first concerns was realizing it's the first guitar I've gotten that didn't have a pick gaurd, and it came with two! Been playing guitar, for around 13 years now, and owned one of these (with sunburst) about 8 years ago, and always adored it! That one got ruined from humidity though and was warping. Now glad to finally own it again! I haven't played this guitar enough to tell if it's the same (still waiting on my strings to really tell) but my husband even adored it when he tested it out as well! I think this guitar is great for a beginner and great for an advanced player! Sure it's no Martin, but for being accustic electric, a brand that no one's really heard of and just a little over 100 dollars, I seriously would compare it to a 300 to 400 dollar guitar of a well known brand. And for me, because I'm more petiete, I've always loved the hollow body, it makes the guitar way more easier to hold and comfortable, and even just pleasing to the eye (in my opinion of course). Ive always raved about it and seriously never been more satisfied.

Buy it...
I"m blown away by this guitar, the price was incredible and I have owned another model Kona guitar for several years now but this is really nice. The action is low and I found no fret buzz or any flaws in the finish, it looks good. This might be the best $112.00 dollars you've ever spent and it would be perfect as a first guitar for a student but believe me, this is a great little guitar for anyone.

i love this guitar
i love this guitar, i play it all the time when I am leading praise and worship at my church, my playing is at the intermediate level. I took it to the guitar shop in my neighborhood to have the strings replaced, the guy behind the counter said he heard a ringing in it, but when i play it I don't hear it. I don't know, maybe he realized I didn't buy it from them...but I would recommend this guitar for beginners.

Punches WAY above its weight!
I adore this guitar. Warm, bright tone. The colour is different than you might expect - it's a darker shade of blue than the photo, which suited me just fine.A lot of people complain about the guitar falling out of tune. You need to be sure you take off the strings, tighten the tuning pegs and the 10 mm nut that holds them in place on the headstock, then reinstall your strings and stretch them. It barely loses its tuning after that.Great guitar. The slimline body is excellent, the colour is beautiful, and the warm tone makes it a keeper. This guitar is an absolute bargain as it punches way above its weight. It's made in America, so you know you're getting a good guitar.

A great guitar for the $
My Kona K2 came within 2 days of me placing my order,I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box to find a beautiful blue (not the Teal green pictured in the ad)guitar with a nice white binding around the front, back, neck and headstock.Gold tuning machine heads on the head stock...a great looking guitar all 'round.I replaced the strings that were on the guitar with DR Neons (White in colour)but, as many others did, I tightened the tuners before re stringing, as my A, and B tuners were loose. After that...I laced it up with the DR's, neck was too tight, so, I loosened her up a tad, I then did a full set up,now she plays and sounds beautiful.Note...set your eq on the guitar, as it is pretty bright (turn down your high eq a tad)and, when not in use...take the 9 volt out.Only thing missing on this would be an on board tuner.but, other than that..it's a great thin line acoustic/electric at a great price point.

Got the second one this morning a lot better but still had a big flaw on the side ...
Got it fast, major scratches on face and I had a drip on blue stain right in front under clearcoat. Returned. Got the second one this morning a lot better but still had a big flaw on the side this time ! The EQ is full of blue paint ! go figure. I know, dont expect tip top merchandise for the price. Plays well, action is right on the nose out of the box, did not try the electronics yet, needs new string as they are already corroded. Lesson learned local music store next time. But still looks very good :)

Better than expected
I wasn't sure because the reviews seemed mixed, but totally worth it. I threw some new nickle strings on there, and adjusted the truss rod, and it is amazing. Keep in mind these guys come from china, so the truss come unaligned since itll prob get messed up in transit else wise.

Decent guitar, great price
Its darker blue than the pics so be warned. Very blue, not very green..Plays nice once you adjust the neck bolt, and it came with the tool to adjust so that was great.Electronics work fine. Strings were in decent shape . Quite satisfied

Needs new everything... strings, pegs..lemon oil
Color is blue not as green as the pic and the guitar strings were old. Oh not to mention the guitar keeps coming out of tune, even with new strings. I believe the pegs are too small, causing like a -4 out of tune after one song. Kinda bummed.

Great Guitar for the price!
The guitar looks good, holds tune (you may have to tighten stuff with a scredriver in order for it to hold its tune)sounds good!
