The best helmet....... period
A while back, 20+yrs. ago, I was on my motorcycle and going fast. As was reported, about 85mph in a 45 mph speed zone. I was hit, head on, by a car going 65 mph. I was injured badly....... very badly. There's a long story, which doesn't need to be shared, that goes with this, but I do strongly believe, (to this day), the main reason I made it through that nightmare was the Simpson model 30 I was wearing. I owe my life to that helmet. I still have it. It's a "trophy". Thank you Simpson.

Great No Frills, Bells or Whistles Helmet!
I had this Helmet exactly a year before I accidentally left it on the side of the road after my clutch cable busted and more concerned with getting the bike on the back of the truck with makeshift ramps.I ended up ordering it again, only to return it and grab the Outlaw Bandit instead.Helmet- ProsSolid Simpson designGreat aestheticsLightGreat peripheral viewComfortableGood ventilation with the vents on the front chin.Cons:NoisyDoes not handle speed well, at all. It basically pulls back and half your face and chin are exposed and the other half is trying to hang on.Fogs easilyLens does not have set points. For the first few months it would hold its position, but after that would just keep closing. It didn’t matter how tight you kept the screws.Lens does not have quick release, so it’s a little consuming to replace every day. I just kept the iridium lens on for both night and day. I have the dark smoke, which is way too dark for night. It’s great for day, but a very sunny day.The amount of room in the mouth and chin area is tight. I would suggest trying this helmet on first before buying. In order for the helmet to fit properly, my entire chin would be exposed so that my nose would fit in under the lip. Otherwise, if I were to just wear it as is, my nose gets smashed. It’s kind of designed for normal sized heads and small noses. After a few months, it felt like I could have even ordered the small. The cheek pads at first were very snug, but wore out quickly, allowing a tad more wiggle than I prefer. Mind you, I wore it everyday, so it experienced abnormal amounts of usage. All in all, I would still recommend it, but would suggest again to try it on first. The $400 price tag doesn’t quite justify this simple no frills bad boy. So, if you have the money to spend, do it. Otherwise if you’re looking for bells and whistles, try the Ghost Bandit.

this one is super light with very good visibility and in my opinion ...
Buddy Suttle from UNKNOWN here. I've had a lot of helmets over the years; this one is super light with very good visibility and in my opinion the Simpson M30 looks great. If you do end up hitting the ground you can trust you're protecting your head with the best and strongest helmet out there.
