Excellent bag for small trips for storing multiple items clothing in a single carrying style

I purchased this bag as my fiancee's son got married across the country this past weekend. We went through a lot for my fiance's new suit (between the cost and many alterations), so I wasn't going to risk it (or my dress) getting ruined or lost, so flying out there this bag was a carry-on. Going through the airports, I had it on top of my rather small roller bag via the rear handle "strap" and it was great until I actually boarded the flight. This particular plane had narrower aisles, so I had to take the bag off of the roller bag which made it a little awkward to go down the aisle with my roller bag behind me and holding this bag in front of me. As my fiancee only had a small shoulder laptop bag, on the connecting flight he carried this on the plane instead while I managed my roller bag. It fit fine in the overhead compartments, and these were Southwest 737 Max 8's. On our return flights I checked the bag as I wasn't as worried about the suit as I was on our initial flights (as he likely wont need it again and because if it got lost the airline would have to reimburse us). But as some people complained about the plastic zippers, out of caution I did get some wire-shanked TSA locks and secured the zippers together. As the metal on the zippers isn't large enough, I wound the wire through an opening in the well-stitched nylon zipper pulls (with the clips on the end) but I "double-wrapped" it to make sure the zippers were held tightly together (if it only went through once there would be a wide gap due to the length of the lock wire). On the side where the top zipper goes across I was able to pull the wire through the end of the metal zipper pull as well, and that one I also wound through twice. I was skeptical that the bag would be able to make it through being tossed around by TSA and other bags being stacked on top of it, so to give it some extra stability I cable tied the handles together to help hold the bag together in case the top zipper started to give. This bag was the first of ours to come off the carousel at baggage claim and I was surprised it was in amazing shape. I was very very impressed. I don't know if/when I'll need to use this bag again, but I feel confident that it will hold up. But, I will use a velcro tie for the handles next time as the cut end of the cable tie dug into my hand (I apologize to the TSA baggage handlers in PHX, MDW and ORF!).

My son loves the "Reacher" TV show. So I saw the actor that plays him on YouTube for the GQ "Things I Can't Live Without" episode and he had a bag like this that he loved. I have always wanted something like this for when I travel. So I got it, and it does not disappoint! Great design. Fits my suits; I got in three. My shoes and other stuff too. Quality ripstop like material on the outside. All the zippers are quality. But the main thing is the handstraps are good, they don't look like they can take a beating so don't go playing tug of war with them. Also the handles will not go over a man's shoulder. So use the really well made shoulder strap. Makes me wanna go on Amtrak and find a place to go for a weekend....

There is no accommodating wheels for this… it’s cumbersome and awkward to carry through an airport and gets really heavy very quickly.

Great bag! I had to travel with a suit fora wedding. I was able to pack everything I needed suit, shoes and all the other clothes I needed. I wish the bad had space for my laptop.

I bought this bag 5 years ago and have used it many times. especially for short trips. I love the functionality overall, for the money. My only criticism is the quality of the main zipper. My use of the bag has been light but the zipper mechanism tore and is no longer usable. With everything going on in the US politically, I really want to support this Chinese manufacturer but I'll have to find a better quality bag for the future.
