Van Gilse Classic De Originele Schenkstroop / Syrup for Pancakes 2 x 21.1oz / 1.3lbs

Had this at a Dutch Breakfast restaurant in Chicago. Ordered it on line to try at home. We made pannekoeken and thrie it. Just as good as in the restaurant. We are fans. Not as sweet as maple syrup.Matches well with the less sweet and less rich pannekoeken compared to an American pancake or waffle.

We were in Holland years ago and tried stroop for the first time. We decided to search online for stroop, found this seller and ordered. It was a great choice. We got to walk down memory lane with ham and cheese pancakes generously doused in stroop!

I received a packing slip that was literally dripping syrup all over the place. Both bottles had somehow become perforated and had leaked EVERYWHERE. It was an absolute disaster and quite disappointing as I had very much looked forward to again enjoying this syrup.

Could not find stroop on the shelves anywhere, so was very pleased that Amazon would deliver it directly to me. The plastic bottle was useful, as I had to carry it in my suitcase after receiving it. I haven’t had a chance to put it on pancakes or waffles, but just with bread and butter, the rich fruit and caramel flavor was delightful. Plan to use it as an alternative to maple syrup and honey, for variety.

I had had this syrup when in Aruba and thought it was wonderful so I was so happy when I was able to buy it through Amazon. The flavor is difficult to describe, not maple, just delicious!

This stuff is amazing. Pancakes waffles toast. Try it drizzled over fresh raspberries. Replace it in glazes for chicken or salmon. You’ll thank me later.
