Update #2 - My replacement device was received quickly and I have been using it for a few weeks now. It is easy to use and it does seem to be giving accurate readings. I notice that when I am not as vigilant, my ketone measurement drops and when I am, it rises. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is trying to ensure they stay in ketosis.Update #1 - Well, after the first use, it no longer registered anything but zeros. I have requested a replacement item. More to follow once I receive another device.I just received this today. My initial impression is that isn't difficult to use. However, I'm not sure how long to blow into the thing. Is it until it stops beeping? The instructions, besides being written so small I had to strain my eyes to read them, aren't as clear as they could be.At any rate, if I did it correctly, it did measure me as being in ketosis, which I expected. I've been using test strips and they have been registering positive for a few days. I don't know about the accuracy of the measurement because I have nothing to check it against. But that doesn't matter too much to me. It's a good tool for verifying that I am in ketosis. I'll keep an eye on the measurements going forward to see if I can somehow gauge the accuracy.This is so much more convenient than the test strips. I'm eager to see how it works out over the next few weeks.

Not accurate at all. Returned

So, I have been eating/living ketogenic for over a year. I haven't used the strips in months, just because it felt wasteful to always be using little disposable thing, and I plan to keep up with ketosis forever. However, I don't know that I have ever gotten an accurate read on this thing. Typically, it tells me I have no ketones, when I know I do (I finally ordered the strips to check again). Occasionally, it will tell me I have 2.8 or 2.9 - the only ketone numbers I typically see on it. When you turn it on, it cycles through to clear out any residual ketones from the last time it was used. Sometimes, it will cycle through twice, and it has happened on three occasions that it cycles through twice, then does not give me an opportunity to even blow into it before it registers ketones - 2.8, 2.9, and 5.8. With no breath at all. Again, I usually get a "0.0" reading. I hate that I didn't send this back before the return window closed - it is total junk. So much for a avoiding waste - now I get to throw away a pricey machine AND the little plastic strips... forever.

I compare it to my ketone meter always about 5 points higher. Maybe has to do with accuracy of blood meter.The little cover on the control button keeps coming off. Have to tape it

I have been strict Keto for nearly a year now and lost 50 pounds quickly, so I know my diet is correct. The instructions provided with the device are in broken English and difficult to read, but the instructions here are better. First, you have to run the meter three times before using to expel and ketones left from the manufacturers testing. Second, you should be testing when you first wake up to get the fasting # - that is what really matters. If the display shows green, you are in some level of nutritional ketosis. what you eat and how much you move affects your levels. This is not a medical device, it is just a guide to help you eat properly on a Keto diet.

I was very curious to use a breath meter for ketones. Of course there is no way to judge accuracy as I am not correlating the results with a blood meter. However, there are various readings each day dependent upon my diet so it appears to be helpful. Instructions were clear. Easy to use. I find it helpful to face a mirror when blowing into the meter so I can see when the meter registers a result. It does take a large exhale but I have never had a problem. I recently took it on vacation to monitor if I was continuing to be in ketosis. One dessert and it displayed 0.0 of course! Overall I am pleased with this purchase.

Incredibly high accuracy.

Received on time, but no company info, batteries or instructions included. I have been using Keto strips for several weeks now and wanted to see how accurate this works. I put in some batteries, turned it on and breathed into it. Since the shape and LED readout are on the opposite side of the mouthpiece, the ticking seconds are not readable while in use. After exhaling into it for 20 seconds or so, it goes through its calculations. My readings ranged from 1.1 to 3.1, not a very tight range in my opinion. I am doing 3 readings in a session to establish some consistency, but without any directions or contact phone numbers, I still don't know if I am doing everything right or if the device is defective.
