I have this outside under a gazebo with a solid roof, it dries very well when it's raining, so I still get that fresh outdoor dried smell - lovely, then when not in use it goes all the way up into the roof. The only problem I have had was the rope coming off its runner every now and again and getting stuck, it's because I had the rope pulled to one side when I let it down and not in a straight line with the pulley. It's surprising how much I can dry on it.
