Exactly What I Wanted
I was looking for a mug with a smaller capacity (10-14 oz) and found that this one worked very well. It's narrow enough to hold without being a burden, the button push top is extremely handy and I can use the button using the same hand that's holding the mug. This mug keeps my beverage hot for HOURS. At first, I didn't know how to reconcile this with wanting to drink my beverage in transit. If you keep the button open, it can cool down at a nice rate and is a perfect way to control the temperature inside the mug.The mug as a whole is easy to clean, and while I haven't used the top in the top shelf of the dishwasher (which is safe), I have found the top to retain some of the beverage smell - just the faintest amount. I think every mug encounters this problem, however, and it does not keep me from recommending it and rating it as a five star product.

Great at keeping drinks hot
I'm a devotee of these JoeMo's; I've probably been through 4 or 5 over the past 6-7 years. They are reasonably priced particularly for double-walled, vacuum-sealed stainless steel. They are great at keeping drinks hot a good 4 hours - and the leak proof lids work; I rarely use the screw on seal as the regular button seal has never leaked when the drink is knocked over. One suggestion: DO remove ALL the translucent white rubber seals - including the larger diameter one that doesn't look like it comes off (it does with a little effort) - every so often and clean with soap and a little bleach to kill bacteria that might reside there; these can get quite dirty internally after several weeks use and LOOK clean but aren't.

Best I've found!
Love the JOEmo bottles. I have used mine for several years. When my father visited recently he couldn't leave mine alone, "Wow you still have ice" "Wow, your water is really cold"I had to buy him his own bottle. He loves it!I'll pass along my cleaning process- Once a week I scrub it out with hot soapy water, put the lid on to shake the suds through the lid, rinse, then fill it with 1/3rd white vinegar and 2/3rd hot water screw on the top and let sit for an hour or overnight. Rinse with water to clear the vinegar and its fresh as a daisy. Repeat twice a week if using drinks with cream or sugar. I used to take my first bottle/lid apart to clean the lid I find this process keeps everything fresh- even the lid when I have taken it apart is clean as a whistle.

nice mug - bad smell
as someone else mentioned, there is a plasticky creepy smell which made me sick to my stomach. A little investigation revealed the source of the smell is the two white soft-plastic sealing O-rings. The other reviewer mentioned that the smell dissappated after a few weeks (!), and I'm hoping the same will happen for me. Until then I really find it unusable cuz it makes me sick and ruins the drink in the mug; its that overpowering. I've scrubbed removed and scrubbed the rings with detergent but so far they smell as strong as ever.UPDATE: It took 5 full days of airing out the rings on the kitchen table before the smell dissipated. But once back in the mug, presumably from the closed space inside, it reappeared. Might return it.

the best travel mug
This is by far the best travel mug on the market It does not leak! Throw it in a bag or on the car seat with confidence. The liquid can be accessed from anywhere once the lid is 'popped', no searching for the drink hole. Keeps drinks hot or cold for HOURS! Nice stainless steel interior and exterior. I hate the mugs with the plastic interior, cheap. This is a quality mug by far. We have purchase several of these for ourselves, and lots as gifts. The recipients love them as much as we do. Standard ship time was QUICK too.

this may be the one
I searched Amazon reviews for three days, looking for a travel mug that met four very specific criteria:1) Must be vacuum insulated and keep coffee hot for more than 2 hours2) Must not spill under ordinary conditions.3) Must be easy to clean (i.e. including being able to periodically take the top apart and clean all surfaces that come in contact with drink).4) Must be narrow enough to fit in those dinky european car cup holders. If these four items are your main requirements, this may be the one for you. I've been using it for two weeks now, and I have no complaints....yet. As far as capacity is concerned, I've had no trouble with it holding two six ounce cups plus some cream. If you fill it this full, it's a good idea to press the button to open the top before you tighten it all the way down. After that, you can close it again for transport, and it's less likely to build up pressure. There is a "top cap" that screws into the mouthpiece cap. If you screw this on, the mug will not leak. If you leave it off, you just have to make sure you don't turn it over or upside down, and you should have no worries. If you are the kind of person who ends up with their stuff all over the seats and floor of your car at the end of a commute, you should always use the top seal in the car (I'll reserve comment on your driving skills - and it doesn't matter what city you live in. Kids in the car....OK, I'll give you that). The mug keeps my coffee a very pleasant drinking temp for at least 4 hours. This could probably be extended with hotter beverage to start, or pre-warming with hot water (who has time for this, I don't know). Cleaning so far is a breeze, although you do want to pay particular attention to the silicone gaskets...they tend to build up a little crud if you don't take them off and clean them when you do the rest of the pieces. Right now this mug is not sold directly by Amazon, so you are pretty much stuck with shipping costs, but it's inexpensive enough that it still costs less than some of the others on the site. In my opinion, if you pay more than three dollars for a mug that cannot be properly cleaned, you are wasting your money (unless you just need a quick fix, and plan to throw it away in a week. In that case, go to the dollar store). The only reasons I don't give it five stars - I would like to see it hold another ounce or two, and have fewer moving parts. Other than that, a good choice for the money.
