Genuinely Good Quality & Value
They might be the 'budget' option in the Steelseries range but these are still a great quality stereo headset!I needed a headset with a mic for gaming and after a fair amount of online research reading reviews (both customer and professional editorial) I decided to go with these for their quality brand and 'studio' like sound reproduction ... and by that I mean a flat and well balanced EQ (no bass heavy mess) all the frequencies seem to be well represented and come through crisp and clear to present a well rounded and balanced sound environment, both in-game and (surprisingly) for music/media too ... needless to say I was refreshingly impressed and very happy with my purchase. (My previous non-gaming headphones were a 'budget' Sennheiser but these Steelseries sound better)They are also very comfortable, even for long periods of use, with true over-the-ear cups. The headband adjusts easily and has plenty of range so should be good for most head shapes and sizes. I haven't had these for long yet so I cannot comment on their longevity, but I can at least rest easy knowing that spares are (currently) readily available in the form of replacement ear pads, detachable mic and y-cable for PC.Other PC gaming headsets I considered in similar price range (~£50):- Corsair HS50 Pro- Razer Kraken- Hyper-X Cloud

Wow these are bloody brilliant!
What an upgrade from the cheap Sony headphones these were replacing.Sound quality is crisp and well rounded. I can hear sounds I couldn't before, while being to pinpoint sounds from all around me in 3D. Music streams sound like I have two stereo speakers beside me, I forget I'm wearing headphones. The headset is very comfortable to wear. The cups are large and cover my ears well without crushing the outer edge. The material is soft and plush. The microphone is clear and I have had no complaints on either team calls or online gaming. The noise cancellation is very good and things like my breathing or any other background noises are filtered out.Well worth the 40 pounds I paid. They are large and I'm not sure that for general use while on the bus etc if these would be the best choice, but for home and work use they are ideal. They also look great with my steelseries mouse, keyboard and mousemat. Go for it, you won't regret it.

Great but short lived.
I've had a few of these headphones and they're a great fit with good audio but with every pair I've had the wire which connects to the top of the headset wears down over time and drops audio when making slight movements.

VERRY GOOD
This headset is quite good. The sound quality is good the surround sound is good but the sound obviously isn't top of the range but still very good for gaming. The headset is also very light so you can wear it for long periods of time (gaming) but it is also very sturdy. The detachable mic is a plus because you can get it out of your way when not gaming. I've tested the mic myself and it sounds quite good and clear and some reviews say the mic is quiet but it really isn't. The noise cancellation is good aswell it blocks all sound when your not speaking but if your talking and create noise next to your mic it will pick up but that's how noise cancellation works. Overall I am very happy with this headset and highly recommend it .

Great Headset
I have been using the SteelSeries Arctis 1 for over 2 years now, and I am overall happy with them. They have good sound quality and noise cancellation, and they are great for gaming. I have used them for hours on end without any discomfort, and they have held up well to heavy use. I have not used the microphone, so I cannot comment on its quality. Overall, I would recommend the SteelSeries Arctis 1 to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable gaming headset.

Mic is horrible.
Got this headset for my nephew as a Christmas present. While testing the headset prior to wrapping, the headset quality is really good and is quite snug fit (which will be great for my nephew, overall it's incredibly comfortable. The only downside is the microphone, I don't know if the issue is with the extension cable itself as this issue only seems to occur on PC (at least during my testing).I opened OBS to record audio and test out the overall sound, I was listening to music on youtube and OBS was picking that audio up through the microphone as well as my default audio for desktop, I had to fiddle with some sound settings within windows 10 to boost the audio coming from the mic as it was initially quite low, this is when I realised the issue with the mic, even if I mute the mic, the audio still came through, but as long as the mic isn't plugged in the there is no isuse (obviously).I used my old PS4 to record a message and listen to it, I didn't use the extension cable for this, the mic and the headset audio is really clear. As of right now I can't test the mic itself until I can convince someone to jump on PS.I will most likely just keep the headset (although I did debate refunding) as my nephew uses a Snowball Blue microphone, so he wont be using the headset mic while on PC (thankfully the mic is detachable). I would recommend getting a Snowball or Yeti microphone if you plan to use this headset on your PC and just avoid connecting the headsets mic to your PC.If you are buying this for console, make sure to test it out thoroughly get someone in a party chat and test to see if your friend gets any echo, if you do contact support to see about getting it fixed or just get it refunded and go for a headset over £100 (Astro A40 TR with Mixamp is what I currently use). I use PS chat + discord to speak with friends while gaming on cross-platform games with my current headset/mixamp.

Its been a few years and the head set is still going. As a person that loves playing online games this is an amazing product. If im playing COD for example I can literally hear were the footsteps of the enemy is coming from. So yes I definitely recommend
