It has some form of Gel inside . its very comfy & ive had mine some years now & its not split / leaked or become damaged with lots of use . I work 16 hours a day most days .. Its been fine

Is it good for vertical mouse?

I have not used a vertical mouse with this mat . the wrist support is more suited for the palm of you hand face down . I couldn't see it being the right shape or if you would need a wrist support for a vertical mouse .

is this firm or soft/has give?
