I got this for my 6 year old great granddaughter and she enjoyed it.

I purchased this book to use with my 3rd grade students that are learning English. It says it's for grades 2-3 but I feel like it's even lower, however this ended up being perfect since one of my students has only been speaking and reading English for 10 months. I created 4-5 page packets for each lesson, such as short 'a' or short 'e' and this worked well for a 15 minute daily small group activity and the packet lasted all week. Would recommend purchasing for your professional library.

This is not something struggling readers can do on their own. It is ok, not as good as some other phonics teachers’ resources. Seems to be for older grade 3-4 review maybe. It does have a basic pattern they follow for each page. I am using it in small group for my grade 2 students. This is Not seat work for grade 2 - use with teacher guidance.

I teach third grade, and some kids still struggle with phonics at that age, but so many resources are very "baby." Some of the kids feel insulted, like they are being talked down to. This one still sort of feels that way to me, even though it's geared toward 2nd and 3rd grades. I have a few bright students who struggle with spelling, and they feel sort of embarrassed when we have phonics small group and the other kids overhear the material, including little "chant" poems with leader and chorus (I will be eliminating that part for their sake). So I wouldn't mind if this product were geared a little more toward bigger kids like it's supposed to be. Still, I'm glad to have something to work with.

I bought to assist with teaching summer school online for 2nd graders going into 3rd. It was a useful tool to let me know where students were.

As a 2nd grade teacher. I recommend this workbook for extra phonics practice.

We are using this item in our Title I remediation classes. It suits our purposes. Our teacher was very pleased with it.

I am working on short vowels with 1st and 2nd grades, and this gives me an entire week of work on short vowels.
