I have not had any issues in using it for four months. Prior to starting this my A1-C was 6.4. After 90 days on a retest I was at 6.0, and the blood sugar had improved as well. At month four I have also dropped about 15 lbs. and I am almost at my playing weight while in college 40 years ago. I don’t late night snack like I always did, but I’m not sure if taking this has curbed my appetite. I still pretty much eat what I want, but I’ve never been a big eater of sweets. This supplement is incredible! Let me give you a bit of backstory, I'll try to keep it condensed.I'm in my early 50s, had 5 kids, always been in shape, very active, only eat Whole Foods, gluten free (because I cook for 2 celiac family members) NEVER eat fast food and my only liquid is water and morning coffee.That being said I went through menopause, relatively uneventfully. The only trouble I really had was I, for the first time in my life was suddenly 40 lbs overweight!! I tried everything to loose belly weight and nothing worked AT ALL.So I thought, just what if I'm insulin resistant? So I did a bit of research to understand what IR even was.As I always do, I looked into pure, natural remedies for IR online and found this. I read EVERYTHING so I took a deep dive into researching different products and countless reviews. At this point, I was pretty sure I was indeed insulin resistant.I started taking this supplement in the middle of the day, 3 caps and really expected nothing, as natural supplements always take forever to see results. If I splurged and over ate or ate something with high sugar , I'd take it twice in a day. When I ran out I ordered another bottle.Mind you, I have an INCREDIBLY busy life. I care for my 2 small grandchildren, my mom with dementia and my disabled husband. So I really just forgot why I was taking this... I just added it to my other supplements and didn't think about it really at all.It was when I was halfway through my second bottle, I had the presence of mind to see that none of my clothes really fit me!! I ran upstairs to jump on the scale and OMG! I had lost 17 lbs! I'm on my 4th bottle now and have lost 30lbs total. So the weight loss has slowed to a crawl but I'm determined to get this last 10 lbs off. I may start taking 3 caps twice a day everyday and see if that helps.And I had ZERO side effects, nothing! No smell, no trouble swallowing, no burps. I feel so much better in every way. So ladies.... if menopause making you not recognize yourself in the mirror for no apparent reason, look into the possibility of insulin resistance.For the record, I had also gone through several yrs of emotional trauma and left an abusive relationship when I began to start menopause. STRESS, even if you don't think you're stressed, is a silent killer. A killer of hopes, dreams, identity, self worth, etc. as well as the physical effects, like insulin resistance. If you have a sensitive stomach I highly recommend that you DO NOT take this! Toniiq berberine is probably one of the best out there. 1st day I took it as directed. Tho I decided to skip my Lantus (70 units at bedtime) which I do every once in a while to give myself a break. Anyway. The next day my 1st reading was 83! Without insulin! Normally my 1st readings are 160-200+ WITH insulin! (They call it sunrise surprise) so this stuff really works! So I can tell you it worked great for me. My problem is that I have a sensitive stomach and it absolutely Tore. Me. Up! Severe heartburn and nausea. I was up all night with it. Next day I only take 2 - that night I was up all night again. Next day I only took 1. At least I could lay down to sleep finally. In my misery I forgot to check my #s. I was just too miserable. I regret that now. I was all attracted to the 97% purity and the 82 times more than something (powder?) that I can't remember. What I was taking was working just great! It brought my #s down significantly. Almost every single one was less than 100. There were no side effects at all. LumaNutrition 1200 mg. I'm going back to that tonight. I talked with the folks at Toniiq and they are giving me my money back and they were really nice. I will tell you that she said my reaction was not typical. 3 days later tho and I still have a touch of nausea and heartburn. So. Can't say I didn't warn you! Anyway the main take away is that berberine is the real deal. The research is just plain wrong to me. They (the research) say it's like metformin. Oh no it's not! It is sooooooo much better than metformin! And also the research, for the most part, doesn't tell you that you're not supposed to take it beyond 6 months. So I've been taking it about 6 1/2 weeks now and after my blood draw on Wed I am going to stop and take a 3 week break. That way I can keep taking it over the long haul. So sensitive stomach people I recommend LumaNutrition 1200 mg. For the rest of you who have normal or strong stomachs I recommend the Toniiq 500 mgs 3 times a day. ALL OF YOU MUST TAKE THIS WITH FOOD! It's an absolute must! 💯Sept 4th update: A1C: 7.6 down to 6.3! (Sorry I'm a little late with the update) but man I'll take 6.3 all day long! I know "technically" it's still high but "technically" I'm happier than a bear eating salmon! I mean really! Come on! 5.6 or lower? For someone with diabetes that just seems impossible. IDK with the way things are going - a little tweak here and a little tweak there I just might make it with the help of berberine. Bottom line? You don't need all those fancy shamsy supplements. With this and that in it that costs you $50 and only has a titch of berberine? But if you pulled my hair and threatened to put toothpicks in my eyes and forced me to say - I would say at most maybe get a berberine/ceylon cinnamon one. It must be ceylon cinnamon. You do the research cassia v ceylon. And you want minimum 1,500 mgs. Oh and about the food part I was meaning the toniiq. I don't think I was paying attention to what I ate before I took it and vice versa. But either way I'm sticking to my Luma Nutrition. (1200 mg) good luck y'all!

This is working well. Still not at the levels where I should be but hopefully I will get there within 6 months. The lowest level I have had is 126.

This is my second time ordering berberine. The first was from a different vendor, not affiliated with Amazon. That berberine had a very strong smell and taste - not like it was bad, but iike it was very fresh. It was a strong herbal smell and taste.The second time I tried the berberine from toniq. This time the smell and taste are faint. You may take this as a good sign, but I take it as the toniq berberine is not as fresh as it could be,

I'm 54 and had a hysterectomy almost a year ago, which resulted in about a 15 pound weight gain. 2 weeks in taking this supplement and I can definitely tell a big difference in my energy and my cravings/food noise. I'm no longer constantly thinking about what I will snack on next or craving carbs. 1 take 1 pill about 30 minutes prior to each meal. As a result, my close a starting to fit just a tad more loosely and I feel fantastic! I'm encouraged enough that I will definitely be buying another bottle!
