Wow is this misrepresented... shackle is not 16mm as advertised; it is 10.45mm. Furthermore shackle is not "hardened performance" -- it is a soft steel that could easily be sawed. I'm a machinist. I'm sure of these determinations.The shackle does not properly engage with the body of the lock. The shackle slots are cut with a 10 degree angular error (an obvious manufacturing fault) and the cog at one end of the body does not travel sufficiently to fully engage even if the slots were right.

Seems like a sturdy lock to deter a potential thief and is perfect if you store your bike indoors at a residential building or employer. But to be honest, I am not sure how long the lock mechanism will last; it does not seem tight while locking or unlocking. Also, do not plan on using the frame mount for the u-bolt. My guess is while you are riding and dealing with the roads, it will either crack because of the road vibration, or, you may break it by securing it to the frame while tightening it down. Put the u-bolt and cable in your backpack and call it a day.

I am not sure I could recommend it, because, yes I didn't have any problems using it for a year BUT it is heavy, hard to make it work sometimes depending where your park your bike, and the lock broke as I was taking out the key... I was fine because the key broke after I freed my bike, but imagine if it would have broken before.... I was parked not necessarily in a nice neighborhood and I wouldn't have been able to take back my bike... Anyway, I still used it a year, so I guess you have what you pay.

I suppose this will do its job but there is a lot of slack between the u-bolt and the base. Good price and came with a cable too. I do regret not springing for the Kryptonite Kryptolok but it was about twice the price. All in all looks like it is strong but if someone wants to steal a bike, they will.

Lock broke literally 1 month after use. Pulled the key out one day and the key never fit back in, the lock mechanism never complete so now it's permanently stuck to my bike. Rusting on the inside was terrible also.

Good for a small town with minimal theft, great for price point. I read several reviews before buying, which indicated in can break easily. I would not use this lock in a more theft-prone area, because it doesn't feel like it could stand up to some heavy hammer blows. The clip that it comes with doesn't hold it very tightly, so the lock wobbles a little, but not to the extent that I worry about it getting lost or creating a riding hazard.If you need something just to lock up outside a convenience store, and you're not leaving it overnight or in a risky area, this lock is pretty solid budget option.

It's good enough so far. The mounting for it isn't very sturdy which leaves it rattling a bit so I knocked off a star for that (I just keep it in a backpack instead), but otherwise I feel like this adequately protects my bike from anyone without some very heavy duty tools.

This is garbage. returned within the same day. quality is crap, and NOT 16mm, its more like 10 or 12 mm at MOST. this product is full of misrepresentation.
