This stuff is amazing! I'm a stay-at-home mom, and don't get to the salon often enough. This is brilliant! My photo speaks for itself. I bought Cool Blonde, and it definitely camouflages my dark root line.

She the photo of before and after included. Great blend and still allows me to wash it out as I am growing out my gray hair.**Original review**I really appreciate thorough reviews, so here is mine about Rootflage. I've used this product about 10 days before posting my review so I could share as much as possible. First let me share how I am using this product. I am growing out my natural gray hair. This transition process takes a long time, so I wanted to use the product to help blend the new growth (gray) with my current blonde hair. I wanted something temporary that I can easily wash out as my gray grows out.ApplicationThe product applies very easily. I tried two of the three recommended methods - directly from the container with the brush applicator attached, and then dipping the brush applicator into the product and applying. I actually preferred dipping the brush because I felt I had more control over how much product was applied to the hair and exactly where. I think using the dip method also helps reduce issues with product getting on the scalp, which gives a strange appearance when it does happen. Product on scalp - not good. The seller provides recommendations to help reduce product on scalp, which I tried - and I did find that after practicing with the product I got better at avoiding the scalp. Sometimes it just happens, and when it does, it is difficult to remove, but think this is one of those things that you get better at as you continue to use the product.CoverageI found that the name "rootflage" really is true with respect to coverage- it camouflaged, and it did so very well. The product did not totally cover my gray, but rather did an excellent job giving it a blended look. I honestly don't think anyone would notice that I had used a root powder. In fact, no one every mentioned it in 10 days of wear.WearThe first time I applied rootflage I did not wash my hair for two days after. It stayed in place with no issues. On day three, it really looked just like it did from the first day of application. I did change my hairstyle a couple of times during that time, so I did touch ups with rootflage in spots that did not show from a previous hair style, but that was to be expected. The wear totally exceeded expectations. Also, I did not notice any color transfer to my pillow. I was using the dark blonde/light brown color. I also found that the texture of the product in my hair did not bother me. It gave so extra volume and in my opinion, it feels better than most dry shampoos. If you are used to using a dry shampoo, I don't think you'll have any issues with the "feel" of rootflage.Color Matching / Customer ServiceColor matching is where I struggled some with this product. I bought the dark blonde/light brown shade. Based on the color swatches provided, this was the closest match for my blonde. And it was close - however it was too warm for my blonde and gives off a somewhat brassy appearance compared to my more ashy blonde.I remembered that the seller sent me an email after I placed my order that said, "We carry over 20 colors of Rootflage, so we should have the perfect shade for you! If the color you ordered is not a match, let us know. We feel confident that we can find the perfect shade of Rootflage for you."I reached out to the seller by way of email and mentioned this concern. The seller was very nice and requested a photo of my hair, which I provided. They responded via email with the following-"I think the cool blonde will be too light for your hair. If the light brown is too warm you can try a couple things:1. Try Golden Brown, it is less warm than light brown. I actually think it would work well, plus you can use it to fill in your eyebrows.2. Or you can buy a Blue Monday and mix some of it in with the light brown to cool it down."I really appreciated the advice on color. However, this resolution left me to take another chance and purchase another one (or two) products (at $20 each). I would have appreciated if the seller would have offered to send me a sample of the new recommended colors or even a discount code to purchase another color. In hindsight, I wish I would have contacted the seller before I purchased the product and asked for their recommendations on color upfront. This is a more expensive root powder than most on the market, so you want to get it right the first time or at least know there is some kind of guarantee in place to get the right color without having to buy more products at added expense.Overall, I really like this root powder. It blends into the hair well, it has a good texture, and you get better at applying with a little practice. As an aside, I also purchased the Purple Haze shade just for fun. It was just as easy to apply and did not stain my gray and washed out with no issues, so if you are looking for some color that is temporary, it's a great option.

The manufacturer of this product has completely missed an entire target audience by only promoting this as a cover up product!I initially purchased this for covering my gray roots as they grow out, in between salon appointments. However, over the last couple of years my hair has started thinning and I literally have one spot near the crown of my head that has a pretty noticeable area of thin hair (almost a bald spot!). I cannot tell you how much I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! The way you work it in, it does blend very, very well AND it covers my thinning area completely without looking like I dumped powder on top of my head. This product has given me more confidence about my hair than I could have ever imagined.Note, I had previously purchased the Color Wow Light Brown Root Cover Up. The “light brown” wasn’t really that light, so I was looking for another replacement color when I came across the Rootflage (and so glad I did!!!). The Color Wow isn’t a bad product, but it won’t give you near the coverage that the Rootflage does and Color Wow isn’t as easy to apply.I only have one little con - I wish that the amount that came out was adjustable. As it is, when the container is turned upside down, the powder will release through the center of the brush and you cannot control the amount that comes out. Other than that, OUTSTANDING!!!! I can’t say enough good things about this product.

This review is way overdue, but really wanted to take the time to say what a great product this is, not to mention the level and response time of the customer service is above and beyond what you would normally get from most companies, in my opinion!So, I am a natural redhead — originally more coppery red (like a shiny new penny) — but as this darn aging thing is starting to happen, my hair is changing a multitude of colors! (EEK!) I'm sort of a mix of more a dark strawberry-blonde-meets-copper these days, but I have areas growing in that are silvery, blonde, a little brunette and strawberry red. Fun, right?! Not between root touch-ups, it's not! SO, this powder is a quick way to even out color at the roots as needed. From the images online, I thought I would have been the copper red shade, but when it arrived, I found it to be a bit too dark and auburn. I contacted the seller, she responded SO quickly, and with a couple of emails sent back and forth with a few sample photos of my hair in different lights, she was able to send me 3 other different color samples to try out. Turned out the strawberry blonde was a great match and the return/exchange was incredibly easy!As for the product... I am usually in a hurry, but apply it after I've washed and gently dried my hair. I work out just about every day and I've had no problems with the sweat making the color move or run, which is great (even wearing a headband)! As I have long, dry and curly hair, I cannot wash it every day, so I'll have this color in my root line and at my temples for days on end without really needing to touch up (or not much if I do).Two caveats: one, if you scratch your scalp, you may see the color end up under your nails. It doesn't stain, but it can be a bit startling at first. ;-) Two, if you apply with the brush fully exposed (as opposed to the guide-rim lifted for more control or to put the cap back on) and you're in a hurry (much like I usually am!), be aware of where you apply it, as stray powder can end up on the counter/sink/floor. It will wipe up fairly easily from a sink or counter, but this is meant to be color-saturating, so don't scrub wherever you wipe it up! If you have a light-colored bath mat or floor, I'd apply somewhere you're not worried about the stray powder and where it lands. :)Lastly: I've tried spray root touch-up color in the past and LOVE it (I find sprays to be a bit quicker and more precise, and a bit less messy), but as a redhead, there's ever only one shade you can ever find commercially (L'Oreal has a root touch up in an auburn red, as does Rita Hazan), but we redheads are harder to match and we're not the majority so you I can't seem to find a match anywhere! So if I had only one wish: it's that perhaps this seller expands her line into sprays well as powders at some point! She has such an incredible range of color selections, it would be lovely to have a spray option too! Highly recommend using her product(s). :)

The color matched well with my dark brown hair with blonde/honey highlights. I just didn’t like the heavy feel and residue it left. If it felt lighter on the scalp and/or was more like a dry shampoo (although many leave residue too some aren’t as heavy) then I’d repurchase. I will finish up what I have thou and I’m glad I tried it. The dispenser mechanism I enjoyed and it worked well to apply. If you get it on your scalp , which is kind of hard to avoid then you will feel it and every time you scratch your head you will have residue on your . fingernails . I also wish it had more oil absorbing properties.

makes your hair yellow looking, terrible coverage.. overall the worst product I have ever purchased, do yourself a favor ladies dont go for this one! Clairol root touch-up is by leaps and bounds far more of a superior product and much cheaper.. I will never buy this one again.

The colour match is excellent, and the coverage is great. After I wash and dry my hair, I apply it carefully to avoid getting any on my part line. I set it with a little hairspray after, and it's good for a couple of days until the next time I wash my hair. I love the variety of colours they offer. This product allows me to go 7 or 8 weeks between colouring without anyone being able to notice I'm not a natural redhead.

This powder is great in theory but the execution is off- I am light/platinum blonde and the powder turned my scalp and hair bright banana yellow. Yellow is a platinum blonde's mortal enemy. I would, however, recommend this product to non-platinum blondes as the product has a strong staying power. I had to shower to get the yellow out despite trying a few other methods to remove the product (wiping with a wet cloth, brushing, etc.)

Excellent product! Very natural looking and lasts until I shampoo my hair. TIP: Add a quick spray of hairspray to set. My hair is naturally very dark brown but I dye it copper red. It blends in perfectly and I never have to walk around with ugly roots:)

Neat product, wish it stayed on a bit longer and didn't transfer so easy but normally not an issue if just using it on your roots . Im going to try the lighter blonde next time .. find this one bit too yellow for my taste.

I love the way it works. I think it’s way too expensive for what it is and the amount. It is hard to match strawberry blonde hair though and it helps to cover the white hairs that won’t stay covered up by colour alone.

Red everywhere. My hands, bathroom, face! Not going to work at all.

I love this! The colour was perfect.My hair lightens at about 4 weeks so great colour match.It covers my grey and my hair is healthier as Less dying is needed.

I was skeptical, I am very pleased, color is a great match to my natural color, stays on a long time, did not come off on pillow.

This hides roots super well!! The only thing, is that it does rub off so you risk getting pillows and hands dirty. I also wish it had a nice scent to it, as it doesn’t smell anything at all.
