Is there a teaching guide in this or not?

There was no teaching guide in mine.

Are they made entirely from non-toxic materials?

There is nothing on the container that states that it is non toxic. I took a quick look at the item on learningresources.com, but it also does not state that the item is non toxic. I would suggest going to their website and asking their customer service for clarification.

Can you cut the shapes so that interior planes would be visible?

I have not cut them, but they are solid and made of very sturdy foam, so I would think that they would stand up to cutting pretty well. I don't think that scissors would do the trick because of the foam density, but maybe an exacto knife or some other kind of tool.
