These tongs will be replacing my two cranky pairs of tongs which open when they want to! I can’t believe the difference in quality of these Vivree tongs compared to my old ones. I would have replaced my old ones sooner! This set contains a 9 inch and a 12 inch pair of silicon tipped stainless steel tongs. The top pull mechanism adds an additional 1-1/2 inches in length to each pair. The handles are padded, so they are easier to grip and comfortable too. I'm very happy with these tongs so far. I will update this review if they don't hold up, but I think they will. I gave them four stars instead of five because they weren't as heavy gauge as I had hoped that they would be, however they seem sturdy enough for most purposes, and the price was right.After a couple of months of use, I'm sticking with the four stars. They are sturdy enough for most things, although some very heavy foods are a challenge, but they do have the problem that many others have noted of being too smooth to hold onto slippery foods.I feel like I should take off another star or two because I seem to be one of the very few reviewers who didn't get them at a discount! I'm getting tired of reading those disclaimers, but if that's the way it is going to be, then how do I become one of them?

I am absolutely in love with these tongs and I am going to have to hide them from my kids when they come to visit. My old tongs I could not use with all of my cook wear , and if you are cooking anything that has any kind of coating on it , it would always end up removing it. These silicone covered tongs do not mar you meal, and you are able cook your meal to perfection. These do not have that annoying slid ring on them to keep them "closed" that would never stay and pop open on your utensils drawer. They do have a small ring at the end of the handle if you want to hang them up. I did receive this set of kitchen tongs at a slightly discounted price, to test them and then provide an honest and insightful review. Spent some time using the tongs in a variety of ways, to give them a true test. Love them, and highly recommend them! One reason I chose these tongs as compared with others is that there are two different sizes. I can use the shorter tongs in small skillets, and the longer for taking toast out of the toaster oven. I also used the long tongs to take marinated salmon out of the marinade and put into a hot pan, and they handled the salmon with great ease (the fish was very secure in the tongs, I did not worry it would slip). The silicon grippers on both tongs are extra long and curved, which I think gives them superior gripping capability. These tongs can handle delicate and dense food with equal ease. Finally, I love the silicon hand grips, and the lock feature. All in all a very handy, useful and worthwhile addition to my kitchen gadgets. Thanks, Vivree! Original review October 22, 2017: These tongs are much better quality than what I was expecting and the sizes are perfect. I bought a pair of tongs a while back and loved cooking with them, but the one i had had plastic that melted a little and stained. these have not done that, they are black so staining isn't an issue and the soft but firm silicon is perfect to grab food without taring it.Update 11/3/2020: three years later and i still use these several times a week. The middle size i use the most, it no longer stays closed for storage but otherwise works fine. The other two are as good as new. The rubber is still in tact with almost no wear on them. Definitely a great buy!

The product arrived promptly after placing my order. As an avid chef, I would like to let you know the tongs have already been run through my kitchen gauntlet. From basic cooking such as flipping steaks, to reaching into a fryer to pull out fries, I would like to let you know I could not be happier with the quality. One of the first tests I tend to put a new set of tongs to is reaching into a hot fryer, needless to say, the tongs passed with flying colors. Also, I enjoy the ergonomic design as not only are they well made, but they seem to fit into my hands perfectly. I cannot recommend these tongs more to anyone looking for a practical and affordable upgrade to their kitchen arsenal.

Good, solid product. I got this for my mother, who has had a hard time finding good tongs, and these were great. The one drawback is how long the black plastic ends were, and the fact that they are made of a ever-so-slightly bendable plastic. Not a huge problem, but a little annoyance. Good price for a functional item. Shipping was quick, too. The one thing I did take off a star for was the plastic, and the fact that the company sent me TWO different emails about reviewing the product. I was not impressed with that. Half a star for each drawback. But overall, recommended.

I ordered this on a whim because I didn't feel like paying OXO prices, but really needed a set of tongs to use on nonstick pans. Holy cow, I am so impressed. First of all, these are soft silicon for the very top 1/2 inch or so to ensure you really don't hurt your pans, but not so soft that they are useless. The two sizes are the perfect set to cover anything you really need them for. I've even already used the larger size on the grill with great success. The mechanism that keeps the tongs closed works perfectly. I have full intentions of checking out what other gadgets Vivree has to offer. Thanks for quality products!
