Onyx BOOX Livingstone eBook Reader

Main reason I purchased the book was ability to use "mybook" app (russian e-library) and other 3d party apps - something neither kindle nor nook offer. This reader is android based and advertised to support 3d party apps.*** You can't open apps in google store,the store just doesnt work in this reader. At the end, I downloaded "mybook" app installation file from the official onyx site, the app did got installed,I was able to sign in my account. But the app was super slow to navigate. I waited for a minute for a book to download, received the error of "app is not responding". I checked few different books with the same result.As a side note - bluetooth didn't work for me either (I was able to connect from my Samsung to the book, but file transfer failed several times)***You can read downloaded books in this reader, so it's not like the book totally not working... But for the reading books you already downloaded, nook or kindle would be much faster, higher quality, and cheaper (130 dollars vs 250). For 3rd party apps - it just doesn't work. The reader was created in 2011 (you can see from specs), and I think on this point any apps are just too much for it.I returned the book and do not recommend it.

I work as a translator. Before I was constantly having to print things out to review and then reprint. It has been so very helpful to use the boox products. They work, and support multiple non english languages. Before i had tried using kindle but had a very hard time getting support for Arabic. This just works better.The charge stays at 100%, and freezes all the time now. I have reset it and reset it multiple times. After a month mark I have been not pleased with it as I was with previous products from the boox line.
