Bonne Maman: The Seasonal Cookbook

Excellent book. Should be more widely publiced.

This was a gift, my nephew in law had just given me a jar of his jam, and l thought it might interest him. I like it , l was given a copy some time ago, try the pork with tangled peppers, it's good,altho l would use a fattier cut of pork,it's a matter of taste.

I have tons of cookbooks that fall into 2 main categories. Those favourites that I enjoy reading and referring to for cooking all the time, and those I only read, as a coffee-table or bedside table book only. Bonne Maman: The Seasonal Cookbook falls into the latter for me.I'm sure I'll cook many of the 'sweet' recipes shown as I'm always baking, and will certainly use the many ideas for putting those many empty iconic Bonne Maman jars to good use (which to be honest is one of the things that made me want this as a reference book - more for the craft ideas!); however this isn't simply a baking book, there are many savory recipes too that use Bonne Maman products (handy if you happen to have them to hand, costly if you don't have the right gooseberry or fig preserve already in the cupboard...).All in all, a beautiful flick-through book for those into crafts and baking, but certainly not an everyday cookbook that will stay on my kitchen countertop. For this reason, I think it would make a great gift for someone (as if you don't buy it, you won't have guilt about not cooking from it).

Good book with lots of ideas for using jam in cooking and the jars once empty.. On the down side not many shops sell all the jams and then its a limit selection of what they do seel. Not found the fig jam yet.Book in great condition , infact looks new, would buy again

I bought this cookbook for my mother for Mothering Sunday and it was perfect. A pretty, well presented book with some gorgeous looking recipes. There were some nice savoury recipes included as well as the sweet ones you'd expect. Some of the photos included show suggestions of things to do with your old jam jars (in the garden etc.) which was nice, if abit twee!All in all, a great book and good price. Very pleased.

Bit of an impulse because I love the jam but had a few difficulties sourcing some for the recipes. What I have produced has worked perfectly with lovely flavours

Not too sure at the moment with this book, if you can get hold of the jams, preserves etc easily then you will be fine and enjoy it but my shops don't stock 90% of the items. The craft tips are great I have done many of these.

This is an interesting mix of sweet and savoury recipes.. I have tried several and have enjoyed making them - and eating the results.I have not tried them all yet, but I will eventually. There is nothing over complicated, but everything has really good depths of flavours

When my daughter was working in Paris, she found the Bonne Maman product line at the grocery store and just raved about it. I tried it and agreed, totally! We were apprehensive when it appeared in several Minneapolis stores, but thankfully, Bonne Maman had not altered its recipes for "American" taste and markets -- other products have done just that, usually by adding sugar. We're happily sharing this book, looking forward to using it for years. BONUS: It's NOT American-sweet, even when the preserves are used in a cookie or other dessert concoction. It's European and lets the flavor of the fruits, chesnuts, etc. shine through. Bonne Maman is a fine product line and it's wonderful to have this cookbook.
