Remington Solar 30 Watt Roof Mount Solar Attic Fan, Grey

We use our attached garage as a gym but the uninsulated but gorgeous old growth redwood ceiling retained so much heat during the afternoon. We looked into drywall but decided to try a solar fan first.This one was perfect. We had our roofer install it and it took them 25 minutes and said it was really well made as far as being able to seal it easily.It only runs when it is quite warm and sucks out the air from this 600 square foot space easily. It doesn't seem to allow cold air in when the temperature has dipped to 50. It is very quiet.

If any piece of the panel has shade hitting it the fan stops running. It's doesn't hold a charge from 7 hours of sun hitting it. As soon as any shade or shadow hits the panel it shuts off. Figure out if any trees or other vent pipes will become shadow over it before buying. It works okay. Don't feel a huge difference of temperature inside the house.

I have a few customers who have selected this solar vent for their homes. I’m a contractor. Just installed it on mine and it’s working great. I live in Texas so it’s totally worth it. I’m very happy with it.

I found out afterwards that the manufacture sells it for just 20$ more but includes the “hybrid cord” so you can plug it in for evening use

Loved the quality. Hated the documentation and company support. Most roofing crews in my area are Spanish. Instructions and vendors video in English. Vendor needs to supply detailed install instructions in Spanish also with the unit. What a circus without that. Tried to call vendor for install help but got a recording and no return call.

The quality is great for this solar attic fan. What I like the best is the customer service provided by Jocelyn at Remington Solar support department.I would highly recommend the small investment in this fan. The 30 watt is perfect for my house and there is very good air flow and very quiet unit.Mine was installed while the roof was replaced, but it seems like any roofer can install this unit on an old roof.I only installed the solar option, without the AC adapter.Hopefully, it will last.

The media could not be loaded. The story continues, I changed my rating from 3 to a 1 because oscillation issue has become more than annoying and they just reinforced their marginal customer support. I've pasted the most recent email reply....."Our engineers are not available over the phone and rarely in the office, but I can forward any specific questions you have. "How can you sell a product and not support it properly?I purchased two of the 30w attic fans, the install was easy. The fans operated as advertised, except one of them during low light conditions would oscillate, making an annoying clicking sound. I called in for support, the recording said to write an email if you want to talk to somebody. I received a call back from a low level rep who had to consult with engineering, it was obvious the rep could only provide canned answers. Finally the rep gave me an email for direct engineering support. I wrote the email and got another low level response, not engineering. So I have to start over again. If your product goes in without any issue, your good, but if you need more than basic help, don't expect much.
