Titanic: A Very Peculiar History™ Hardcover – April 1, 2014

Jim Pipe makes the reader feel that they are literally experiencing a piece of Titanic's history as they devour this book. I got the book for less than a quarter of the retail price through the seller on Amazon. The book is more than worth the cost of a few dollars. Throughout the book, there are replicas of Titanic Memorablia. A ticket to ride on the Titanic can be found within the book, playing cards that passengers played with can be seen, the schematic of the book can be found inside, etc. This is a hands-on book that contains bits and pieces of history that can be removed from the book and held by the reader. I would not recommend this book to be viewed and enjoyed alone by children under eight or nine. It contains many extra pieces that could be lost or ruined. I ordered Pipe's book at a more than reasonable price from the Amazon seller and my book arrived at my house within a week of being purchased. As if all that isn't great enough, I would like to mention that the book might have well been brand new because the condition of the book was remarkable.

This book was a gift for my daughter who enjoys anything about the Titanic and she loved it with all the "extras" included inside such as a menu from the ship, playing cards, and a copy of the newspaper article and headline. My 7 year old grandson loved it too and wanted one for himself, but mom said they could share it.

I've studied ALOT of information about the majestic TITANIC and all of the societal implications, also the various tragedies of the laborers trials and tribulations to sabotage the launching of this great ship of the WHITE STAR LINES. trying to maintain the integrity and superiority . This book gives the reader a much needed view looking from the outside in. This book is by far one of the greatest books that I have ever had the opportunity to read. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book. I usually don't recommend any books, but this is a great book!! My sincere support to the author of this book. Keep up the great work and thank you..

This book is told from the point of view of a reporter on board the Titanic's maiden voyage and his notes that were (supposedly) going to be published after the ship docked in New York. So in addition to presenting information about the ship, it's voyage, and it's demise, you also get a (fictional) first person narrative about the voyage.One item to note: This book contains a number of smaller pieces of paper contained within pockets in the book. I'd recommend this book for older children that will be able to keep these pieces with the book, lest they get lost.

This is a big book and has great information without being overwhelming. The book has great features like a "Sea Life Guide" and a menu that can be pulled out, and a newspaper clipping from the Titanic's sinking, among other things. It's a very interactive book. All my kids really enjoy it. I thought it was especially nice because it was a good price. I highly recommend this book.

It was an excellent product. It's interactive format made it fun to read and perfect for my seven year old grandson who is very interested in the Titanic. The colorful artwork interspersed with actual black and white photographs made it visually attractive.
