Yes, but seems like you already know that. USB 3, which this is using, is not up to par with Thunderbolt. However, I'll tell yoi right now that because you can use the effects on monitor channel as well (as DSP), it really doesn't matter and shouldn't discourage you. I've had mine for a month and love it.

the box said it was set up for windows. i returned it and got the newer version with thunderbolt instead of usb and to be sure it worked with mac, too.
