Beautiful, Strong Pump, Packaging Caused Failure
The media could not be loaded. This is a very strong pump and its beautiful. I designed a custom loop that goes through two 44mm width 420mm Alphacool Nexxos V.2 radiators, a Quantum Momentum^2 Z690 Hero mono-block, and a EK-Quantum Vector FTW3 RTX 3080/3090 D-RGB - Nickel + Plexi GPU block. Though the loop order is scientifically insignificant, I wanted the coolant to hit the CPU first, then be cooled, then hit the GPU, then be cooled on its way back to the pump. This required slightly longer runs than the boring, go straight from the pump to the GPU block, to the monoblock, to the rads. From my years of past experience as a wildland firefighter and a plumber in my younger days, I like the plumbing aspect. However, I knew that the longer the runs, and the more fittings used, the more drag the plumbing would have and therefore the more pressure would be needed, not to mention the coolant had to make it through two big radiators. I did not want to sacrifice volume for pressure by going to a DDC, so I needed a pump with both good head pressure and volume ratings. The D5 was the obvious choice.Though my case and fans (that I love) and RGB controllers were all Corsair, the XD5 just did not match up statistically though it would have showed up in iCUE and I do like the square design, and it was $30 cheaper.Upon installation there was a major issue that you can see in the video. My pump seemed super weak, and I hesitantly theorized a vapor lock issue over a weak pump. But after tipping the system several times, no air was bubbling out. Something was wrong. First I tried disconnecting a tube and siphoning some coolant through most of the system to see if I could break the vapor lock but only ended up with a bad taste of coolant (a little I washed out thoroughly ha!) and the same problem when I reassembled. So, reluctantly I drained the system and pulled the pump to see what mechanical issue might be going on. When I pulled the pump apart, everything looked fine inside but when I grabbed the reservoir, by chance I noticed something was off. At a certain angle light was barely coming through the metal inlet tube I had screwed into the reservoir lid to avoid splashing. I looked down it and saw that there was something in there. I poked it out with a small screwdriver. Turns out two plastic washers were lodged in the inlet tube. I remember the tube had come rumbling abound in a bag of parts with screws, washers, a plastic vortex tube, etc. Somehow they must have lodged in the tube and were the perfect outside diameter to match the inside diameter of the tube.I attached a photo of this as well.I then reassembled and tested the pump outside the case (lesson learned) and found it to be pumping great. I then put it back in the loop and this pump now kicked arse. It pumps so hard, despite the big loop, that it would drain the reservoir in about 5 seconds while bleeding. Massive difference. So, the moral of the story is to check your pump before install due to poor packaging of parts, and that this pump is insanely good when it’s not handicapped. Definitely BUY THIS PUMP, IT’S POWERFUL AND EASY ON THE EYES. My system is running super cool. Even my power hungry FTW3 stays low to mid 30s at idle.

High-Quality LC Pump
If you're looking for a high-quality liquid-cooling pump at a decent price, you've found it! I've been running it for 6 months and it has performed flawlessly. It is pretty big and may not fit in some mid-tower cases so check your measurements carefully if you need it to fit inside your case. It is very quiet. I have to look for the movement of liquid in the reservoir to even know that it is running. Installation wasn't too difficult. You may need to drill some holes in your case for mounting (a template is provided). I feel like it will give me many years of reliable service.

very quiet and stylish
Got this for my first cooling loop build and I'm pretty happy with it. It's very quiet and as you can see from the picture, it's RGB is pretty bright and illuminates the reservoir to the top. This thing is beefier than I was expecting and it's pretty solid and seems well made. There are 3 inlet ports on the top, and 2 inlet ports near the base and one output port. Make sure before you plan your loop that you know which port is the outlet or you'll be making some changes like I did.when filling your loop, just make sure not to run the pump dry. I didn't have this issue, but every video I see on the matter stresses the importance of this. Overall, I am happy with this pump/rez combo from EKWB.

Excellent pump/res. Little pricy
Don't get me wrong.. It's a gorgeous setup but very expensive. I have a 7 year old 500 liter per hr. EK pump/res combo that still functions but wanted a better flow rate for my new build. These D5 pumps are 3x as powerful. Very noticeable difference! This clears out air bubbles with ease where as before I would have to tilt my case around and help the pump out. I feel like with anything EK, you end up paying for looks as much as quality. But my whole loop is EK so godda do it!

This is the one you have been looking for
High quality product. Powerful pump that is quiet too. Acrylic is very sturdy, no cracks so far. RGB light is just right. Multiple ports are a bonus. Easily the best overall pump res combo IMO.Update 12/10/20 --- still working great!!

Excellent customer service
I unfortunately had a poor seal in my pump/res causing a leak. Titan Rig was very quick to help out and they sent out new o rings because it would be faster than waiting to return and replace the unit. Unfortunate that EK does have some quality control issues, but Titan Rig was quick to help out when they could have easily said “well that sucks”.
