A pocket knife can be a tool or a means to defend yourself. If the inmates only purpose for a knife is to open boxes and widdle wood then the non locking with its “balls” removed will be just fine. However due to the nature of smuggling a knife into prison, one can assume they want to use it for defense at which point you’ll need a locking pocket knife. **Q: Can this knife be opened with one hand?** A: While it can certainly be opened with one had, the resistance of it being a slip joint is cumbersome to my fingers. My method of quick-open is just putting my left hand index left finger through the keying and opening the knife by pulling with my thumb and index finger of my right hand on the hole, it opens very easily and quickly this way, as much as any one hand open knife. Keep in mind just about any knife this small will require both hands for easy open, I love it because you can use it in a business office, even a Federal building and no one will care. **Q: Where is the product made?** A: Spyderco website says China. **Q: It it easy to one hand open like with most other spydercos?** A: Super easy to open and close. ## Frequently Bought Together - Spyderco Bug Non-Locking Knife with 1.27" 3CR Steel Blade and Durable Stainless Steel Handle - PlainEdge - C133P - Spyderco Honeybee Non-Locking Knife with 1.60" 3CR Steel Blade and Durable Stainless Steel Handle - PlainEdge - C137P --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://saintkitts.desertcart.com/products/1871106-spyderco-bug-non-locking-fix-blade-knife-plainedge](https://saintkitts.desertcart.com/products/1871106-spyderco-bug-non-locking-fix-blade-knife-plainedge) --- *Product available on Desertcart Saint Kitts and Nevis* *Store origin: KN* *Last updated: 2026-10-10*
