Wildly impressed
I was hesitant about ordering crickets - I'm the guy who goes to the local pet store to buy crickets for a serious upcharge because they die quickly anyway.I pulled the trigger and bought 250. Sadly I wasn't home when it was delivered and the box sat it in the heat for a while. I was heart fallen and tried to get home as quickly as possible. But when I opened the box to see see, not a single cricket was dead. It was..... Amazing.I rehoused them into a critter keeper with food + such, and they were super energetic. I fed my crested geckos, who LOVED THEM, and saved the rest.Next day I came back in expecting the crickets to be half alive and half not, like the over priced ones I buy from the store, but no.... They were All doing well. It was... Shocking. The shipping packaging of the box was so great, there were airholes and lots of room for the crickets to be safe. They just got themselves a new customer! No more going to the store, it's these guys only for us from now on!

Very Healthy
I always buy my crickets and even some critters from Josh’s frogs. In my experience with being a reptile enthusiast my whole life when you get crickets shipped to you there is a large chance of causalities. I’ve had really good luck with these guys (spring, summer and fall months) usually get very healthy and clean crickets that survive in my keeper for a while. I will continue to get crickets from Josh’s frogs and also I’ve had good luck on their website getting lizards and other creatures from them. Thanks Guys!!!

Very Pleased!
Shipping was fast. Packaged well with heating pack included. I only had one or two out of the 250 I ordered that were dead. My crested geckos will be beyond happy come feeding time. Will be purchasing again in the future!

Have to brag
I usually order from Joshs Frogs website but do to a heat advisory in my area the only shipping option was next day delivery and was more than what I was trying to buy. They have quality products and I wasn’t concerned with the survivability of the insects so I ordered from here, granted the prices and quantities were different because of Primes free shipping but I typically receive orders in 2 days so no worries. I believe the temperature the day I received my order was around 100 Degrees, I try to time my orders so I will be home to receive them and get them out asap. I had ONE dead cricket in the package and I am writing this review today because evey other cricket survived until used, approximately 35 days. I give my crickets feed, watering gel and a piece of potato once a week.

Dead Crickets!
This is the second shipment I have received where almost all my 250 crickets were dead! The first batch I was thinking maybe they got to hot. It wasn't over the 85 degrees they said, but maybe somewhere along the way on the hot truck it got to hot. I gave them another shot after and again a shipment of dead crickets! I had just 43 crickets out of 250 alive and pulled three of those dead this morning. I know the temps were not to hot and considering temps in MO were in the 60's-70's this week it was not to cold. These ship from MI. Where the temps are probably cold this time of year, however why not put a heat pack in it if they can't get out of your own state without getting to cold? The times I have ordered and a heat pack was supplied, my crickets were alive and healthy. I understand to hot and to cold, but it was not hot and no where near less than 20 degrees. So in my case it was a waste of money to by dead crickets. Even the ones at Petco are alive. They suck, but not dead!

Worth the money
More arrived dead than expected, but the price is good. FYI, the box is the box. There is on packaging inside so careful how you open it.

So healthy and well-bred that after two months, only three cricket exoskeletons found!
These arrived August 19 (box of 250). It is now October 24. I left an earlier review after three weeks (none having died except in a tummy), but as of today, I’ve had only THREE die or molt! All of them arrived live . I just cleaned the cricket enclosure and found those three exoskeletons at the bottom. That’s it! There are maybe 60 left (haven’t counted; they’re hiding in the egg cartons). I have only one bullfrog to feed (Syrax, grown from an injured tadpole rescued in April 2019), so I was hoping the crickets would stay alive plenty long enough to supply her over time, and they have. Syrax lives in a Paludarium big enough so I can release several crickets at I time that she has to hunt for. She’s not over-eating, and the crickets are finding hiding places in there. I bought the larger quantity because the smaller wasn’t available and the larger was a good value.Of course, I take as good care of my crickets as I do of Syrax. The crickets get Fluker’s Cricket Quencher (also from Josh’s) and mainly eat bananas, but seem to like the grapes and lettuce I recently added. They aren’t going for the Fluker’s Orange Cubes, though. I have to take the cricket keeper outside every couple of days to release the fruit flies (Syrax isn’t interested in them, spoiled girl that she is), and change out the fruit/vegetables once a week or so. I’ve added photos so you can see the setup. (Not sure what “Thickness” is as a review category but I put five stars; just add them to the overall rating, lol!)

All arrived alive
Not one dead cricket upon arrival. That proves that banded crickets are more hearty than the other feeder types. They also are eating lettuce,Cucumber, and carrots along with the dry cricket meal. No appetite like this for the last seller, they didn’t touch the vegetables at all. I think they were sick as I lost around 80 when they arrived and they kept dying off day by day. Josh knows what he’s doing with banded crickets and this order proves it. Keep up the great work Josh.
