This product has been hand crafted by the women of Noor Center, Nizamuddin basti, Delhi. The women, struggling with a numerous problems on a daily basis, have taken a huge step towards their social and economic independence by associating themselves with the center. This product has been made using Sanjhi, the art of hand cutting designs on paper. This is a typical art form of Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, also known as the legendary home of Lord Krishna. The cutting process requires enormous skill, concentration and patience and the fine detail is achieved using specially designed scissors. Noor uses the jali patterns of Humayun’s Tomb and other monuments along with other motifs to craft contemporary products.
