Eureka 16156-1 Brushroll, As5203/As5204

I bought this to replace the brushroll in my vacuum and now it picks up dirt like new again! I wish I had done this a lot sooner. The old brush roll and almost no bristles left. They had been completely worn down. I've realized that to make it last longer I should be changing the setting to bare floors when I am actually vacuuming linoleum or wood floors. I had been leaving my vacuum head on the low carpet setting all the time, which may have contributed to the wear. My vacuum is picking up everything that I can see, and tons of dust and small debris that I didn't realize were in my carpets. I've learned it is definitely a good idea to replace these from time to time as part of regular maintenance on your machine. Good luck revamping your vacuum! Replacing this, the filters and the drive belt were the extent of my do-it-yourself home service. This saved me from the expense of purchasing a new vacuum. With kids and animals, having a reliable vacuum is very important.

Wrong size for vacuum

A must have if you're gonna keep your vacuum for a while. I have had my vacuum for 3 years and it was overdue for the brush to be replaced. I noticed the vacuum was not doing as good as it used too. After brush replacement it almost like new again. Much better carpet agitation and alot more dust a pet hair removed like it did when it was new!Replacement is simple for my eureka Air speed zuum. Just unscrew four screws on the main housing and tip it forward. The brush and belt are exposed -ready to clean or replace as in my case. Well worth the money for sure.

I was beginning to think that after 4 years, our "new" carpeting was starting to look beaten down even though I vacuum it regularly. When we bought the carpeting I also bought a Eureka Zuum vacuum and have always loved it. I clean the filters regularly and replace the U belt as often as I need to (every 3 months or so) to keep the vacuum running efficiently--or so I thought. Last week, I noticed that the vac was leaving little pieces of things behind on the carpet and looked at the brush roll. It hadn't occurred to me that the brush would wear down--but the brushes were just little nubs! I checked the vac model number on the bottom of the vac and was happy to find the replacement brush bar on Amazon. It arrived yesterday, I installed it today--and have a "brand new" vac. I just finished vacuuming and even though I had vacuumed the day before yesterday, after vacumming today with the new roller installed, there was a significant amount of dust in the disposal cup. I will order another roller or two to keep on hand. I only gave it 4 stars because I want to see how long it takes for the roller bristles to wear down.

This Eureka upright vacuum cleaner was the best machine I every used until the day the Brushroll broke ,then it just set.I'am glade I spend 19.00 for a Brushroll and not over hundred for a new machine. Lots of power and not as dirty job when you go to empty

Works as advertised, i have the model as5204. Beware, do not let your vacuum suck up strings (shoelaces, wires, etc.). I noticed that my vacuum started making a loud buzzing noise, further inspection showed that the brushroll had melted at one of the ends. This caused the brushroll to be lop-sided which caused the buzzing noise. Replacement brushroll takes care of the problem.

Didn't fit my vacuum. I may have ordered the wrong part number.

Perfect fit. Replacement took one minute after a Google search on how-to. Dinging 1/2 star for no instructions, and another 1/2 star for price; this part cost a huge % of the original entire vacuum cost! But ultimately, for $19, vacuum is perfect again. Also, I have the 5204 model, works fine.
