What are the dimensions for this insert?

The dimensions they list are accurate, 15.5 x 10.2 x 0.9. I have mine inside of an old Rothco messenger bag. It's holding two spare glock 22 .40 mags, a Motorola radio, handcuffs, a flashlight, folding knife and full medic kit. Still space for Nook, binders, notebook. The only criticism is that it is not rigid enough. However, easy access will allow a more rigid insert into the center. Highly recommend this product and would definitely purchase again. I use it for work when in civilian clothes. Very discreet.

Why can't they list the dimensions!! What are the dimensions of this item?

When I purchased three of them back in December, they did have the dimensions specified. The small version (511-56280) measures 15.25" x 10", the large version (511-56281) measures in at 19"x12.25"

Can I put my own body armor insert in it?

Standard plates do fit snugly. Consider rifleman cut plates to avoid restricting your vision. Local laws may apply. Use paracord to lash to back of your car's headrest . Place window breaker and seat belt cutter on the webbing where you can easily reach. Note that the webbing is horizontal on the other side. Remove the carry handle to use on something heavy, like a duffel bag or kayak.

Is this guaranteed bullet proof?

It’s nothing proof. Just a MOLLE panel with a plastic sheet for a stiffener.
