This squre is a sturdy little thing. Haven't checked for square yet, but it does have etching for all the jam packed numerical information. A previous review mentioned they were just decals. Not true they are all etched into the medal. Maybe he was referring to the DeWalt name, which might be a decal.

This is a high-quality, well made, functional tool. A bit more expensive relative to comparable rafter squares.

Fantastic tool for the typical home handyman. I'm not a construction professional, but I like to tinker around the house a lot. If you aren't familiar with speed squares, I suggest you watch the video at the bottom of this review. Even if you aren't building rafters, as I suspect most are not, this is a handy tool to have in your tool belt. It is sturdy and the markings are clear and easy to read, and is notched at the right increments for scribing lines. I've used it to mark angles, scribe lines, and to guide my circular saw - it saves me time and makes for straight cuts every time. It is lightweight and not too bulky, and the lip holds it tight to the wood. No complaints![...]
