This actually substitutes for GE's MWFP refrigerator filter, not many others will. Many filters come up when searching for GE MWF P filters. This one actually fits and costs a lot less. I've dissected both GE and some others - they all seem to be made the same way - with what appear to be identical internal components - perhaps originating from the same manufacturer? In any case, these EcoAqua EFF-6013A filters actually substitute for the GE MWFP filters.

Arrived and installed quickly.

I ordered the 2-pack of the Supco WF287 Refrigerator Water Filters  Supco WF287 Refrigerator Water Filter Cartridge, 2-Pack . After the first order was not received (it was claimed to have been delivered to my home by UPS), Amazon quickly gave me a refund and ordered the replacement (since the price had decreased since my original order). I received the order within 4 days. I just installed the filter in my GE Profile refrigerator. Intallation was very easy, just follow the instructions on the Supco box:1. Twist off the old filter one half turn counterclockwise (note that this is looking from the bottom of the filter)2. Gently pull the filter straight down and discard (the water will shut off automatically)3. Fill the new filter with water (fill with water from your faucet)4. Push the new filter up into the filter receiver in the refrigerator until it stops (you don't have to push hard, just a little pressure)5. Twist the new filter one half turn clockwise6. If your refrigerator has a "change filter" light then you need to reset your "change filter" light. Presss and hold the "reset water filter" button for 3 seconds.7. Flush filter with 1 to 2 gallons of water to remove air, flow will sputter until air is removedA couple of notes:a. The filter is in a sealed plastic bag inside the box, and has a plastic adhesive cover over the top of the filter. When you remove the adhesive cover there should be a small black O-ring either inside the top of the filter or stuck to the adhesive cover. Place the O-ring inside the top of the filter - there is a small channel which accepts the O-ring around the inside of the top of the filter.b. When filling the new filter with water, continue filling until no more water will drain down into the filter, just keep adding a little water at a time - if you do this the filtered water will not sputter when flushing with the 1 to 2 gallonsThis is the first time I have replaced the filter on this refrigerator, and I will come back and update my review when I change this filter to let you know how long it lasted, and if I have any problems with it.Update 7/14/15: I've used two of these Supco filters, and they performed flawlessly, just as good as the more expensive GE filters.

Since I could not find my old Brita brand filters I went with the Supco brand. They are shaped slightly different and had an extra clear soft (silicone?) washer in addition to the O-ring but seemed to fit OK. Look for this washer as mine fell out when I opened the seal on the flange. The filter body is not marked with a matching alignment arrow like the GE and Brita filters so look at the filter you are removing and note the orientation of the locking flange so you can insert the Supco filter the same way. My first attempt did not seat well and a squirt of water came out. I tried again pushing up harder while twisting and it seemed to seat OK. It's been a week now and so far no leaks.The Supco water flow is quite a bit more than what I remember for the Brita brand when they were new. This on one hand is a good thing as we are on a private well and our pressure is probably not as high as most people on city water. When the Brita filters were a few months old the flow dropped off quite a bit and it took a while to fill a glass. This makes me think that maybe the Supco brand don’t filter as fine as the Brita and GE brand but I have no proof of that. Time will tell how these work. They are less expensive than the Brita which is OK only as long as they filter as well.The 3 filters were delivered quickly from National Trade Supply, LLC and their email communications were prompt and thorough, acknowledging my order and its progress through their system.My four star review is not five only because I am not yet sure of the filtration quality of this brand and will have to wait and see.

The price was good.

I typically don't like to use after-market or third-party suppliers for parts. In the past I've always used the factory MWF filter on my GE Profile refrigerator. However, I didn't like paying $45 at home depot for one of these filters. So I decided to give these Aquafresh Replacement filters a try. For less than half the price per filter I figured it was worth a shot. Physically they are similar in size to the MWF, but they have a slightly different shape. I've only used one so far, but it installed easily and fit nicely on the filter hub. The water pressure through the filter (at the spout) was great and all else seems normal. One thing I noticed was that there was a small, clear washer that was loose in the filter package. This washer needed to be placed into the opening on top of the filter so that it seals tightly against the filter hub. Some reviews for these filters mention that they leak. I haven't had that problem at all, not one drop. I think the people who experienced leaks with these filters may not have inserted the washer. I do believe that without it, the filter would probably leak. One other feature I should mention is that these filters come with little month stickers (Jan, Feb, etc.) that you can stick on the filter after you install it. So you can see when it was that the filter was last replaced. I'm hoping to get six months out of one of these, but I've only had one in service for about a week. Right now, that's the only unknown. Will these filters have the lifespan that they should? I'll try to do an update in the future.

Product is as expected (so far). Just received the product recently so I've not been able to determine the longevity.

Purchased this item for the price but didn't come close to what the name brand filters did. Water was as cloudy as sink water and could still smell chlorine. Had to purchase and install a more expensive filter from home depot in order to return these . The new filter removes all chlorine smells and water looks much clearer.m
