A Great Travelling Companion
This is a lovely guide to the "rules of engagement" for a coach. It is a compendium of various models that may prove useful to the active coach, mentor or assessor. There are great descriptions of each of the ICF Competencies with discussion around their interpretation. Each chapter is well constructed with an aim and a conclusion. It is well written, cohesive and understandable. It drives a lot of the myths out of coaching. This will be a really useful companion as I continue on my journey as a coach, mentor and assessor. Thanks Tracy and Jonathan. Good Job!

Becoming A Coach: The Essential ICF Guide
I purchased this book because I will be attending a program called The Science and Art of Organisational Coaching, an ACSTH programme for my journey to become an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) accreditation by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).This will be followed by the Mentor Coaching programme (also an ICF prerequisite for ACC).This book is a must-have for anyone anyone on a coaching journey, and more importantly for those preparing for the Coach Knowledge Assessment (CKA).The Coach Knowledge Assessment (CKA) is a tool that can be used to measure coaches’ understanding of the knowledge and skills important in the practice of coaching. The CKA tests coaches on their understanding of the body of knowledge that includes the ICF definition of coaching, Core Competencies and Code of Ethics. This book will assist in excelling in that assessment. So, this is my go-to book for ensuring I have a smooth journey to my ICF accreditation and in becoming a successful coach.

Fantastic Resource for Developing Coaches
An immensely practical guide for developing coaches, packed with resources. It has relevance for those just setting out on their professional development through to mature coaches who continue to grow their approach and practice. For newer coaches, there is a section relating to the ICF core coaching competencies (revised in 2020), with a chapter getting under the skin of each competency. For more seasoned professionals, there are illustrations of a range of different approaches to coaching (e.g. Gestalt, Humanistic and Psychodynamic), as well as guidance on various ways for continuously developing your coaching practice (e.g. reflective practice, supervision). It seems to be more of a book to dip into for the help needed, rather than one to read cover-to-cover. Easy both to read and to navigate. How I wish I had had this 12 years ago!

Highly recommend
I love this book, such great detailed information and has been invaluable to my learning and studies as a personal development Coach and especially as I wish to adhere to the ICF core competencies and code of ethics so this book goes into more detailed information on each. I have done and will continue to recommend it to coaches who want to build their practice on a good foundation of knowledge and ICF valuable information.
