Its ok for being one of the only options
I ordered this kit and installed it for my girlfriend who has a 2002 ford taurus which we were installing her kenwood radio deck to run her 2 15 inch digital design subs and the 2 2000W kenwood ampswhile installing this I had a few small things i wasn't happy with...1 the kit has to be put together from the old one as in you need to transfer the climate control dials and the retaining clips for the radio keys.2 In order for the aftermarket radio to work you need to wire the harness all the way back to the trunk which is hard when you have a 0 Gauge amp power wire taking up the space where you need to trace the wires through to plug it into the trunk3 the kit doesnt like to fit a simple single din kenwood radio deck i had to use quite a bit of force to get the mounting tabs to stay then it kept falling out so i had to run 2 screws through the plastic pieces into the radio deck so it wouldnt pop in when you push the buttons on the radio4 The way they attached the wires for the lights they used hot glue which all had to be broken off so there would be room to mount the climate control switchesWith this vehicle I am amazing with electrical in vehicles and I looked and looked to find a way not to run the wires all the way to the trunk and find a way or a harness to plug into the factory radio harness right behind the deck and there are no other options this is the only type of kit that works in the ford taurusbut after installing this dash wired to the trunk the speakers were 3 times as loud on half volume as the stock radio was at full volume.

I nice unit
This fit excellent in my '01 Mercury Sable with the excepting that the ISO supports don't fit the Pioneer Single DIN radio sleeves. It took me a weekend to complete this project because on the Sable, the connections for the radio and HVAC are in the trunk. I originally was going to have this installed by BestBuy, but since I could this myself, it saved me $80. Having done this for the first time, it was a good learning experience. The best advice for those wanting to take this type of challenge, start from the rear first, tuck all of the wires in except the Antenna because the Antenna is much longer and can't be shortened. Finish the install by connecting everything in the front. Saved some time by doing the HVAC and wiring for the head unit in the house.

Save your money, buy the metra kit.
I bought this product because it was much cheaper than the metra. However paying the extra for the metra made product may have saved me a headache. When I first got this, I pulled it out of the box and the clear plastic tabs which I found out is where you put your factory mounting tabs, were broken off. So anotherwards putting my dash kit in, it does not stay in or click in because the clear tabs are broken.2nd, all the wires to the harness that goes in the dash to supply power, I had to manually cut off all the glue to move the wires since I would not be able to mount the factory controls. Very poor routing design. My defroster emblem is basically sideways. I turned it a bit and its almost upright. After finally getting everything installed, I now have an airbag light that is always on. It does say in the manual I need a resistor but does not say which pins or which harness I need to put it on, regardless it shouldn't trigger that light if the wires from factory were done correctly.Overall it works, but very poorly made. Unless you're mechanically inclined and able to fab up your own stuff then might be worth saving 30 bucks. If not save your money and buy the metra. I was going to return this but then I'd have to disconnect everything again. So now I'm left with a dash that falls out when I hit the accelerator until I jb weld the brackets back in, at least itll be easy to take the dash out, just hit the gas and out it comes! Save your money buyer beware.

Three problems for three stars.
There are three main problems with this product.1. My dash kit was arrived with one of the brackets/guides broken off. Fine, whatever, glue it on and get on with my life? No. The loose, broken bracket was a SECOND "left" bracket. I don't have the right one. And the left bracket that's in place is joined on the "right-ward" side. Seriously??2. Cable management is done with hot glue, which is actually a great way to do it. It's cheap, quick, and effective. However almost every dab of glue was severely in the way in each of the three controllers that you need to install in the back. You have to undo the glue joint to get the cables out of the way. Poor foresight.3. You know the tool you use to remove the dash part for your radio? You use the clips from your old one on this kit. This is also a great idea from a kit designer. However, the design of the piece that you fasten those clips to (I'll call then the clip brackets) both broke off on the left and right side after the first attempt to remove it from the dash. The culprit? A small surface area for the clip brackets to join to the dash kit with glue combined with the smallest drop of glue on both clip brackets. Just inserting that tool broke them both. The dash kit practically fell out after that.Besides this, the fit when it was in the dash was actually almost acceptable. I'm sure with a LEFT aaaand a RIGHT bracket/guide, the kit would have seated properly. The wiring harness and antenna cable were well made. I am actually really impressed that the cable jackets we're labeled, let alone correctly and in the right colors. That's what makes this 2-stars and not 1.This was almost a home-run kit. It's just that those three issues are so, glaringly horrible. I don't know why these brackets weren't just included into the injection mold. Doing that and addressing the hot glue atrocity would make this a 5-star product.Oh, the finish on the injection mold doesn't match the rest of the dash of a Ford taurus. It needs to be glossy.

Fit 02 Taurus
Fit my 2002 Taurus SE. Only issue was the clips breaking off when pushing unit inside the dash. The plastic is glued and not one mold. Had to re-glue the plastic clips with better adhesive. The brackets to hold the radio busted off when I hit a bump so the rear of the radio sags and the face points upward. Don't feel like pulling it back out to fix it.
