A documentary that puts a face to the voices you love - Executive Produced by Jon DiMaggio (the voice of Futurama's Bender), I Know that Voice is a documentary and love letter to the talented men and women who provide the voices of some of your favorite animated characters. Featuring legends such as June Foray (Rocky & Bullwinkle) and Stan Freberg (Looney Tunes) to contemporary heavyweights such as Hank Azaria (The Simpsons), Tom Kenny (SpongeBob Squarepants), Seth Green (The Family Guy), Mark Hamill (Batman) and Nancy Cartwright (The Simpsons) and more!

Great and Fun!
I really love this documentary that shows the behind the scenes of voice acting. All the cameos are such an awe inspiring moment of joy for those that do appreciate the talented actors and the breakdown of how they get their work accomplished. The continual titles of their names and various roles is also a nice on screen add while the clips of actors talking flipping back and forth can confuse people.

The most famous people you'll never recognize
I know that voice is a well done documentary about the voice over business and where it got it's start. But I have two criticisms with this film. #1. While Mel Blanc and June Foray are definitely worth remembering, there were other popular voices in that era, like Robert C. Bruce or Paul Frees just to name a few. Now, they could have overlooked them for time concerns, but still. #2. When Richard Horvitz talks about how in every documentary, they never go into how the people in the documentaries got famous, just a jump cut and they were famous. Ironically, this film does the exact same thing. They never really go into how these actors got their breaks, with maybe two exceptions. They never got into what they went through, good and bad, that got them to where they are now, again with two exceptions. Those parts may have been cut for time concerns, but... man, the irony. Beyond that, I have no problems, it's an entertaining and informative film with all of my favorites in the mix. What more can you ask for?... Except those 2 things I mentioned, but that's just me. If you love cartoons and/or behind the scenes stuff, this is definitely worth a watch. It's not voice acting 101, but hey, I'll take it. By the way, stick around for the credits, you're in for a treat.

A rare peak into the talents of voice actors and their production process
If you've ever had the slightest interest in what goes into voice acting behind animation, this is the perfect documentary, featuring many of the A-list performers from both past and current animation productions together with voice directors and other behind-the-scenes personnel. Both funny and inspiring at the same time, it showcases the true talent needed to be a successful voice actor - far more than simply providing impersonations, the show illustrates the creation of a character and the ability to read anything in any style in a given voice. It's hilarious watching Shakespeare performed by classic Warner Brothers cartoon characters as a performance, and also seeing how they merge multiple voices to create new characters. The actors truly become characters vocally in the way an on-stage actor uses expression and body language to achieve the same effect. Many of the interviewees can shift between dozens of different voices to bring the animations to life. The documentary also explores some of the process involved in taking a script, breathing life into the dialog and then moving on to the animation stage, as well as the refinements after the production to allow for errors in lip-syncing and other pick-ups needed. If you're a movie fan and have an interest in the production side, this is a must-see - and even if you're not, it's also very funny to watch.

I really like this documentary a lot
I enjoyed this film a lot. It includes a real "Who's Who" of voice actors (and getting to learn Who is Who, as in what person does which familiar voices, is a big part of the fun) and the talent on display is incredible. Listening to the pros talk about how they came up with a certain voice, hearing them deconstruct it to demonstrate the different elements, really gave me a much deeper appreciation for the craft. Seeing some of the actual studio time, as people do 150 different "oof!" and "ugh" and "aah!" sounds for video games, for example, was enlightening, and hearing their anecdotes about whipping their character voices out in off-camera situations was a lot of fun. As someone who always dreamed of being a voice actor, this film was a dream come true, and I could have watched hours and hours more of it. But I also recommend it to friends who never had any aspirations in the field, and they unanimously like it, too.

Definitive Doc on Voice Acting
This is a hard film not to like, because it's hard to imagine somebody watching it if they weren't interested in the subject. That subject is voice acting and just about everything you ever wanted to know about it. With anything of this scope it's hard to hit every topic and get every interview and please everyone, but it's hard to imagine a film being better than this on the topic. It's a breeze if the voices from cartoons or video games or even commercials ever peaked your interest. You're not going to see too many names or face you recognize, but you will know most of the voices! Not a mention of cereal voices (other than one)... I needed some Tony the Tiger!!

This was amazing!
I am a huge fan of voice actors! They are the people that bring the characters to life! On this movie which I have been wanting to see for forever, are so many of my favorites. I'd have to say that Steve Blum, Jim Cummings, Billy West, John Dimaggio, Tara Strong and Bill Farmer are some of the top favs. I have got to meet Steve Blum twice and he is just amazing and adorable in person as he is in the shows he portrays. Been following his career for over 13 years now. I have always loved voices, but listening to Steve doing Spike Spiegel just blew my mind and made my heart melt. I would be putty in his hands. I even have tattoos of anime characters such as Spike, Ed and Al from Fullmetal Alchemist, and Miroku from Inuyasha. It is because the voice actors are so absolutely awesome and talented that I have those. I love that the voice actors come to the anime conventions. This way I am able to meet the people that touch my heart so. Loved this movie! If you are an animated fan of any age, you have got to check this movie out. It is awesome!! :D
