The Novaguard has been designed as an alternative to the Elizabethan Collar or Buster Collar. This alternative allows the animal 85% greater freedom of movement. It fits comfortably on the animals head not unlike a baseball cap and moves with the animal rather than just hanging loosely around the animals neck. The Novaguard is designed to create a barrier to stop the animal accessing wounds or other conditions and after surgery or trauma. The Novaguard is manufactured in six sizes from Miniature, Toy, Small, Small/Medium, Medium and Large and is made from semi transparent polypropylene plastic. The Miniature and Toy is also offered in a soft transparent PVC plastic. The design incorporates a head rest which cushions and allows space between the inner surface of the Vizor and the animals face allowing for greater air flow and comfort. Provisor has designed the Novaguard to be suitable for animals with larger heads by adjusting the side straps. This adjustment increases the opening size for animals with a greater collar size. The peel off lines on the snout of the Novaguard have been incorporated as an adjustment means for animals with a shorter snout. (Simply snip and peel off). The Novaguard is easily cleaned with warm soapy water and dried with a towel The Novaguard has been designed to accommodate dogs with a Occipital Bone of Prominence. An advantage of the Novaguard over the E-Collars is the patients ears are outside the visor and therefore helps maintain ear health and dryness.

The BEST MEDICAL Collar EVER, Highly Recommend
What a wonderful invention. Thank you! It was great allowing my dog to have her independence to use the dog door and wear an e-collar. It took her a minute to get the hang of going through the door with it, but she figured it out. I LOVE it. Much less bumping into furniture and things as well. From now on this is the only collar I plan to use. I love how versatile it is for different sizing as well. Great Invention.*Update* I’ve used ONLY this style medical collar for my 3 dogs now for years. I have purchased five through the years. Love, Love, Love these. They are sturdy, allow for perfect sizing, permit my dogs to utilize pet doors, their cages, and walk through the house without bumping into everything. Their ears are outside so they can hear and their air can circulate better. I was able to personalize one as my dog had two surgical sites; 1 on her belly and 1 top of her head. I just hot glued a portion of the removed front extension to cover her head- and padded it, worked perfectly.

Ugh! Forget it!
My 20' pup is deaf and blind. He had surgery and needed to wear a cone. I knew the poor thing would be bumping into the furniture and would never find his way to get out the doggie door (believe it or not, he goes out to the fenced yard on his own.) When I saw the photo of a dog using the flap, I was sold. When it arrived, I was crushed. Way too big... sticks out too far. I donated it to a pet shelter. I hope they're not cussing me.

Doesn't work well
This was recommended by my vet. It is a huge improvement from the old fashioned huge cone. I had a couple problems. The instructions are not easy to follow. The first 2 times I used it, it popped open an was basically a big viser. I had to tape it. I'm hoping this will work.

It's a fantastic idea, but the bottom of the cone cut ...
The only reason it doesn't get one star is because my dog is admittedly odd-shaped, but I can't see how normal-shaped dogs wouldn't have the same problem. It's a fantastic idea, but the bottom of the cone cut into my dog's neck/chin area and he hated it. He was fine with other E-collars, I just thought we'd try this one because it was more narrow and he might not slam it into walls and furniture, but he hated it the second I put it on him. He'd been in a traditional E-collar for a couple of weeks (recurrent hot spot that he would NOT leave alone), so I thought he'd be happier with this one, but nope. Some sort of padding along the bottom edge MIGHT help, but I think it might still feel very restrictive. If anyone finds a magical alternative to traditional E-collars, let me know!

So much better than an E-collar
My dog is an odd mix breed, Spitz/Maltese but looks a lot like a corgi. No other type of collar (e-collar or inflatable or even a muzzle) has kept him from licking/chewing any booboo he's ever had. He is OCD so he only makes it worse. This is adjustable, easy to use & so much better for my baby. He can still eat/drink & pick up his toys. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS!

do not waste your money!!!
THIS PRODUCT IS HORRIBLE. Bad quality and doesn’t close or fit properly around dog no matter what size you get..my dog took it off within minutes and got to her wound.

and works pretty well, although my elderly Cocker has figured out ...
This is a fabulous idea, and works pretty well, although my elderly Cocker has figured out how to chew her foot anyway. I love the fact that the inner ear gets more ventilation with this cone than with any other style. I use this one when I can keep an eye on her, and it lets her move quite easily.

Really wanted to like this but after following instructions and fitting it properly
Really wanted to like this but after following instructions and fitting it properly, my dog can still reach his paws to lick them so it doesn't work for us.
