child's imagination can conceive. Your child can play the
architect, builder, or engineer using the variety of wacky parts,
gears, levers, and tracks along the Velcro-like play surface.
Kids will learn fundamental physics concepts, such as gravity,
momentum, and velocity, and problem solving in a fun and
interactive way. The easy-to-read manual includes five course
designs to get the experimenting--and fun--off to a start.

Kids Decide How to Play the Game
Smart Lab's Weird & Wacky Contraption Lab is different from most
games because kids create and design how to play. Kids can mix
and match different tracks, gears, and levers to manipulate the
rolling ball down the track in a variety of ways.
Plenty of Pieces for a Variety of Play
The lab contains 66 pieces, each with a unique characteristic or
function that makes it fun to play with in any configuration.
Pieces range from a toilet, a cleaning machine, gears, and a cup
to a zigzag ramp, boot buster, chicken coop, and stunt pig
cannon. There are a variety of tracks, stoppers, and steel balls
so your child will have plenty of options for creating new games.
Easy Assembly Without Adult Help
Our tester found the lab easy to assemble and children aged
eight and up will have little trouble getting the lab up and
running without adult help. The plastic pieces easily snap into
place and stick to the board with the Velcro-like system. Simply
snap, stick, and play.
Five Course Designs Help Kids Get Started
The lab includes an easy-to-read instructional booklet featuring
five fun and educational course designs of varying complexity.
Designs include Pigs in Space, Got Time to Clean?, Having Funnel
Yet?, T can Tipper!, and Gear up for Fun! Each design follows
a number of chain reactions towards an outcome--the successful
launching of the stunt pig-loaded rocket launcher!
Weird and Wacky Contraption Lab
60 colorful mix-and-match pieces including tracks, ramps,
funnels, gears, and more. View larger. The booklet also includes
tips and tricks on how to achieve a predicted result. The course
designs are easy to build, but a challenge to make work
effectively. This teaches valuable lessons on trial and error,
problem solving, and working towards a predicted goal. Kids will
be excited and proud knowing their creative changes and
adjustments caused the stunt pig to launch.
Award-Winning Toy Teaches Fundamentals of Problem Solving
Smart Lab's Weird & Wacky Contraption Lab has won multiple
awards including the Good Housekeeping Best Toy Award, 2012 Mom's
Choice Award, and 2012 Parents' Choice "Recommended" Award for
its unique educational approach and versatility. As kids
experiment with the different pieces making small adjustments as
they go along, they learn problem solving and gain an
understanding of gravity, momentum, and velocity.
