Arkadia Lightweight Nylon Double Parachute Camping Hammock with Carabiners and Starter Straps, Green/Grey

I received this product in return for an honest unbiased review. This is an amazing, strong well packed hammock that I bought for my son. We love to camp and take day trips and this hammock is perfect as it is small, light and easy to use. It is very comfortable and perfect for a nap. In fact my son slept over night in it! I love this hammock!

It's cold. And, it's rainy. And, it's almost winter. And, I don't even camp. Buying a hammock seems all wrong. But, my teenager has been asking for one of these hammocks so Merry Christmas to her! With that preamble, you can guess that my experimentation so far has been limited to tying it up on my deck while she is too busy ignoring me to notice (which gave me lots of time, but not quite the right spot). I did do some research on different brands, and in the end, most of the lightweight, portable hammocks seem very similar and don't have a lot of major issues. So far...here are my initial thoughts.What I like1. It really is small and compact. Another reviewer actually weighed it. I'll just say it is about soccer ball-sized (but squishy of course)2. The fabric is strong, durable, and it feels great (which would be nice if it WERE summer and I actually HAD shorts on...)3. There is plenty of room for a teenager in this (there is definitely room for two teenage girls, but definitely not room for a teenage girl and a teenage boy...just saying).What I don't like1. I cannot possibly be the only person who looked at these little ropes and thought "what the heck do I do with those...". Fortunately more sophisticated reviewers than me (i.e., people who don't mind setting up tents, in the dark, in the woods with bears) have put pictures of how to tie this thing up. And, more importantly, they said to buy hammock ties, which I am ordering next. I gave it 4 stars for the ropes, because they are just not the same quality as the item itself.Though I did receive a discount on this item for a fair and unbiased review, this was already at the top of my shopping list!

Surprisingly good quality hammock for the price. Bought this as a Christmas gift for a young friend of mine and she really appreciates it. If you have a friend or friends who are more on the introverted side and enjoy being alone, reading, writing, or whatever, consider getting them a hammock. Smooth transaction. No issues and it arrived quickly. Overall very satisfied.

Comfortable and the size is perfect for two skinny people or one larger individual. The seams on the bag it goes in are very fragile. I accidentally tugged on it and it came off.

About the product:This is a really nice double hammock! The green and grey go nicely together and I was very impressed with the width and length of this hammock. It’s very roomy for two people. This is good because some double hammocks are almost the same width as singles, just with a higher “weight limit.” Sometimes it’s just marketing, but with this one you can tell it’s actually designed for two! This one comes with its own ropes so it’s ready to go, but I’d recommend buying tree straps to use with this. I’m not crazy about the carabiners and I’d say get some that are smooth and won’t accidentally catch the fabric or rope. Buy some snag free ones. Check out a Youphoria hammock to see what I mean. I just received my hammock today, and am loving it! We received this item at a discount in exchange for an unbiased review. That said, I am I thrilled with this hammock! The fabric feels amazing - super lightweight and breathable. We ordered the green, and the color is even nicer than it looks in the pictures. I love that the zip pouch is permanently attached to the side of the hammock so that we can't misplace it. I think the straps are a little shorter than what we'll need for the trees in our yard, so I plan to order a set of daisy chain style hammock straps.

Item arrived promptly and was packaged well. It seems to be a high quality construction and looks just like the one I've seen at REI at a much higher cost. Can't wait to get out and relax in it when the weather gets better!
