Sleepy Wings Swaddling Jacket (LARGE (13-20LBs), Pink)

For our son, we had to transition out of the swaddling as he was approaching 4/5 months old and still not rolling over in his sleep. This allowed him to "soothe" himself and still not have his hands going everywhere. This definately does not replace a swaddle but it surely helps to get them transitioned. We have been using this now for over a month and I recommend getting two, for washing. My son naps every 90 minutes so it doesn't give it enough time to wash AND dry before needing it again. Highly recommend for an older baby.

I think this would work well for a baby who keeps their hands relatively still. However, this will not keep your baby's hands still (like a swaddle would). There is a lot of wiggle room inside the "wings". I also think the little holders for a pacifier are a cool idea, but it did not work at all for us, because our daughter uses a pacifier that doesn't have that fold-down handle (I think it would work with a NUK brand, but brands like Soothie or MAM don't really work in here). It is easy to get your baby into this, but my baby did not like having her hands restrained -- and because it doesn't hold her tight (like a swaddle) she doesn't calm down. This is probably great for a baby who needs their hands restrained for some reason, but it is not a good substitute for a swaddle.
