Expect to be inspired and challenged!
The Savage Leader was excellent, because it got very personal. The challenge to greatness was incredibly fierce. The author has an uncanny ability to see into the heart of a leader.I wrestle with challenges in my thinking patterns, and we all wrestle with doubts. The end of each chapter gives a very helpful summary to stir the lion in everyone of us.The book was incredibly helpful. I will use it as a coach others!

Fantastic guidance for both new and experienced leaders
When you look at the Table of Contents, the Savage Leader seems to be one of those books that cause you to say, "I've seen this before."Wrong. Each chapter, and each section of the book provides a unique perspective and a fresh look at matters that get you thinking. It adds additional considerations that, quite frankly, I had never thought of such as practicing mental and physical reps to improve your leadership skills. It uses an approach that we in the submarine community refer to as "theory-to-practice," where he outlines the concept then provides practical advice on how to put it into practice (and rehearse the good behaviors). This book fights way above its weight class! A terrific read!

One of the most authentic takes on leadership you will find...
So often people look at leaders of today - and yesterday - and wonder "how did they become so successful?" and "what is their secret sauce to being such an impactful leader?" I think what we forget to realize as we scramble to inspire, motivate and cultivate our teams as leaders is that it has very little to do with how we outwardly project - our rhetoric, our delivery, our visual presentation, our corner offices, etc - and everything to do with our ability to be self-aware, authentic to ourselves, introspective and constantly display empathy to those who surround us. This book is PACKED with practical tips, honest stories and critically important challenges that will help any leader - in any industry - reevaluate, reset and emerge more equipped to lead...

Easy read. Easy to follow.
I like the way each principle was payed out. I was hoping this would be more directed towards leadership in an office setting rather than being geared towards starting/owning your own business.

FANTASTIC read!
The author, Darren Reinke, shared a new leadership model in such a way that anyone can relate to it and even put into play no matter your line of work or what kind of personal space you may be in, in your life. Darren does a great job of introducing the new "Savage Leader" ways and comparing this new way to lead.... to "traditional leadership". He interviews CEO types, Professional Sports Coaches, also leaders from start ups to long time business leaders to community activists and even Navy Seals...all very interesting stories! I truly enjoyed hearing Darrens own story, experiences and life lessons as well. Highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to do better their lives. Very inspiring!

Awesome, inspiring read with timely advice for leaders facing pandemic-induced challenges!
This was a great book that I thoroughly enjoyed. It was timely given the challenges business leaders are facing today. Reinke emphasizes and provides examples of how vital it is to utilize emotional intelligence and personal connections with people to foster teamwork as business leaders navigate pandemic-induced workforce burn out, emotional strife and team morale roller coasters. I found Reinke's words to hit home because he has successfully counseled working parents like myself as we travel the journey of business relationships, leadership and juggling inner personal challenges around success, family, finances and work-life balance. This was a quick and engaging read that I'd highly recommend to other aspiring or veteran leaders.

A Must Read!
What a gold nugget of a find! Loved this book - concise, useful and reads so easy. Not only does it address finding your authentic leadership from within, but it also sheds amazing insight into the power of changing perspective and living life to the fullest! Right off the bat, I really liked how the author highlighted the differences between the traditional leader and the "savage" leader, which clarified the various leadership perspectives and provided the reader with a brilliant blue print on how to identify their own character traits, skills and goals in order to maximize their leadership potential. Highly recommended for anyone looking to take their leadership to the next level!

Applicable to any age, in any field
The Savage Leader is a must have for every bookshelf. Although I am not in a business field, the principles covered were applicable to my life, and I felt that anyone, no matter their age or field of work would find the suggestions valuable and stories interesting. I have even contemplated having my 11 year old son read it! The book itself is short and an easy read, but the content inspires and reminds you of the goals and values we all strive for as humans -- and the importance of a mindset open to growth! Grab a copy and check it out yourself. Worth your time!
