To make perfect espresso: Use quality blends, warm up machine, set Optiaroma for coffee quantity, MEMO for length, activate pre-brewing, adjust grinder. Arabica and Robusta acidity and stronger taste. Fine grind for strong coffee, coarse for lighter.

How can I change the grinder settings?

Adjust grinder settings by the knob inside the beans container with the key, one notch at a time. Choose among 5 settings, from boldest to lightest. Taste the difference after 2-3 brewings. For 120V model, adjust when grinders aren't working.

Do Grinding, Optiaroma, and Pre-brewing affect the taste of coffee?

For perfect espresso: grind correctly - not too coarse or fine. Optiaroma adjusts the coffee amount for light or strong taste. Pre-brewing moistens coffee, enhancing intensity and releasing more aromas.

Which components are removable and washable?

Clean removable parts (drip tray, plate, coffee container, water tank, pannarello, cappuccinatore, CappinCup, milk carafe) with soap and water. No abrasives/solvents. Brew group: no soap. Drip tray plate: dishwasher safe.

When do I have to descale my machine? Which water filter can I use?

Scale buildup is normal & depends on water quality. Descale when display alerts using GAGGIA descaler. Follow instruction booklet for steps. It is compatible with Brita/Mavea Intenza+ water filter designed to protect the machine against scale.

Good for the price

Very good machine but two improvements could be made. The coffee should be hotter. No big deal heat a cup in microwave. Should be able to make stronger coffee. Not having this option means bean choice is limited.

Amazing machine

Decent but lacks customization

Makes good coffee, but you can’t control volume of water. Can’t make an americano brew quite small coffees if you use standard ikea mugs.
