works well
i was a bit leery as another reviewer (7 years ago) stated cuff was small. when it came i took it out and looked at it and cuff was very small and i thought i'll have to send it back. but then i realized that i hadnt pulled it out of the d-ring(the metal clip ) when i did the cuff was roomy and i have 11 inch round arm and i bet this would fit even a 13. also i have hearing loss and been told i need hearing aid but i could hear the heartbeat through the stethoscope well enough so it isnt that bad. as for hospital using with digital well i know they have calibrations by medical equipment department regularly scheduled buti was taught on a manual cuff many years ago. i also have two digitals by omron and when i do all three thereis big difference between dig and manual and manual will always be the most accurate. next dr. appt in novemberwill take the new manual cuff to check it against their digital to make sure its accurate.for this price this is a great cuffperhaps i spoke too soon yesterday re sound thru stethoscope because it was more difficult to hear. so i removed thee cuff's steth and used my more costly one i used to use for work and loud and clear as a bell

It seems to be accurate and is very easy to self-adhere due to "bar" that helps you pull band tight. HOWEVER the stethoscope is POOR. It is very cheap, barely audible sounds, and it is attached to inside of arm band. This is a known technical "no-no" for placing of stethoscope for accurate reading. Although, it does make it easier for novice to take his/her BP, just won't be "as accurate" as it could be if a better grade stethoscope was used and not placed underneath cuff. Other issue, it has horrible off-gassing odor that I hope diminishes over time...cheap plastic components I guess. I am using the band but using a better grade stethoscope. I removed the stethoscope that was attached (it is easy to unscrew off) and will probably donate it to a school lab or just throw it out - it's that bad. But the unit is economically priced and surprised how well it actually works.

A bit difficult to use
Stethoscope allows you to actually sense diastole and systole, but found myself not using as much as I would a large digital read-out.

Good product for the cost!
This is a good quality product for at home use. Requires some assembly, but thats no trouble. Overall, its exactly what we needed!

Manual BP Monitor
Obsolete these days. Most hospitals use digital. Still, it is a great skill to have.
