Smith & Wesson Border Guard SWBG10S 8.3in High Carbon S.S. Folding Knife with 3.5in Serrated Tanto Blade and Aluminum Handle for Outdoor, Tactical, Survival and EDC ,Black

I recently added the Smith & Wesson Benji 2.5in High Carbon S.S. Folding Keychain Knife to my outdoor gear, and I’m incredibly impressed with its performance. Despite its small size, this knife is built to last. The high carbon stainless steel blade is strong and sharp, making it perfect for a variety of tasks while camping or overlanding. Whether I’m cutting through rope, prepping food, or handling general camp chores, this little knife has been a reliable companion. The folding mechanism is smooth and easy to operate, and the knife locks securely in place when open, giving me peace of mind when using it. It’s compact enough to fit on my keychain, so I always have it handy when I need it, but it’s sturdy enough to handle more demanding tasks without feeling flimsy. It’s clear that Smith & Wesson designed this knife with durability in mind. I also appreciate the 1.75-inch modified blade, which strikes a great balance between being small enough for easy carry and large enough to be functional for everyday tasks. The blade holds its edge well, and I’ve been able to use it for several camping trips without needing to sharpen it yet. It’s the kind of tool that’s small enough to go unnoticed in my pocket or attached to my gear, but when it’s time to use it, it performs above expectations. This Knife is a fantastic little tool that punches well above its weight. It’s perfect for anyone who needs a durable, compact knife for outdoor activities like camping and overlanding. With its rugged build, sharp blade, and convenient size, this knife is definitely worth having in your kit. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a reliable knife that won’t take up much space but will be there when you need it most.

I've had this knife for a minute now and it is one of the better knives at this price range. It doesn't come with the spring that auto opens it but I would say it's not worth paying the extra (sometimes double triple the price) just for it to open itself. This knife is extreme sharp and cuts through everything I've tried so far easily (rope, can lids, paper, cardboard, plastic). It also has a car window breaker at the bottom end and a seatbelt cutter above it (the notch towards the bottom of the handle). You can open this knife easily by pushing against the lip that sticks out on the back end and then flicking your wrist up or down (like a butterfly knife) to give it some momentum to fully come out. Haven't had it come loose on me any time in my pocket or when in use. The clip is strong too and can be replaced if it starts to not hold anymore to with tiny screws. It is a pretty good size for a pocket knife and I would say it's perfect. It's just big enough to be useful and not too small to look like it can't do much. The feel of the knife is pretty smooth. It's made of metal and has a nice grip to the handle. Overall, I recommend this.

When you purchase something with the Smith & Wesson name on it, you expect quality. This knife delivers in spades! It has a very well designed, economic grip that is crafted to prevent your hand from slipping in either direction when either stabbing or pulling. It has a great feel in the hand. It weighs enough to feel solid, but not so much that it feels like you’re carrying around cast-iron. The steel is high-quality and durable. It holds an edge extremely well and sharpens very smoothly with a diamond sharpener. The blade length and the overall length when unfolded are really quite excellent. The locking mechanism is impeccable. The window breaker is a wonderful added feature: I never like being in a car without one and now I always have one, even if I’m riding with somebody else. If I could give this knife six stars, I would. I have purchased many knives of this design from many different manufacturers. The one thing that they all have in common is that the hex nuts come loose very quickly and the flick of the blade get sloppy quickly. This knife comes tight. I sprayed a little bit of silicone at the base of the blade and let it bleed into the connection so that it opens very smoothly with a flick of the wrist. The bolt itself has not come loose at all, and it is consistently just tight enough so that the blade isn’t sloppy and doesn’t have any side to side wiggle when opened.

The grip isn't particularly comfortable to me, but overall, the knife works well and the blade holds an edge nicely. I use this knife almost every day and I would recommend it because it's definitely a very good value for your money.

I have purchased Smith & Wesson knives before and I've got to say that they are definitely stepping their knife game up. It took me so long to find an EDC knife on Amazon that was legal to conceal carry in my state and wasn't garbage like most knives seem to be these days, even from the big box stores. Looking at you Gerber... That being said this knife is awesome! Glass breaker with seat belt cutter serrated edge and a tanto style blade for sharp cuts and variety of cutting. Knives are not prying tools however this knife feels pretty sturdy for a light prying if needed. The only drawback to this knife I will say is that it does not open quickly. It does not have any kind of assist. This is a very minor gripe though as I did not buy this as a self-defense knife and more for everyday use. I liked this knife so much that I ended up ordering another one lol. Get it while you can!

Always have realistic expectations. This is only $15! It is substantial, durable, and does the job. In two years of everyday carry, it gives no problems. Easy to open, locks reliably, easy to close. Strap cutter works. The glass breaker on mine is crap though. The mounted point easily knocked loose and sideways the first time I test struck it (just on hardwood too!). As you can see in the pics. I'm sure it'd still shatter regular glass, but it's not the powerhouse tempered-glass destroyer it looks like it should be. BUT, it's only $15. I'm very happy with it. As for the sharpness... it is disappointing, but almost no knives are shipped razor-sharp. Probably a liability thing. It's an industry-wide trend, no a problem with this particular knife. You can learn the simple art of sharpening, or take it to a local sharpener. If sharpness IS a priority, I found the SWFR2S one ships near razor sharp, but I dont like the "sticky" opening. And as other users have noted, the screws on these knives are flimsy (again, its only $15, and the description even says the handle is made of aluminum. Aluminum screws should NOT be expected to stand up to servicing, they may as well just be rivets), so adjusting the opening tension isn't really practical. Again, this SWBG10S is sturdy, it opens and closes butter smooth. Just get it sharpened and you have it all. With a bonus crappy glass breaker. for only $15.

I’ve been carrying this same knife for over 8 years and it still looks great, cuts great, and carries great, for the inexpensive price this has been a reliable EDC knife for almost a decade! Still has years of service ahead of it. Love this Tanto blade, sharpens very nicely. Never have had to use the belt strap cutter but seems like it would function fine. Very smooth one handed opening and closing with a flick of the wrist. Great value buy!

I've had to buy several of these now as they mysteriously disappear when friends and family members are around. Nice, sturdy knife for everyday use. My son used it once and immediately claimed it as his. Same with his girlfriend, my boyfriend, and two friends from work. I try to keep one in my truck and in my work bag all the time (when the pesky lil suckers dont wander off).

Good

Great to hunt Deers hidden in the Forest at night. Good shape and quality!
