My Drunk Kitchen: A Guide to Eating, Drinking, and Going with Your Gut

Life Advice from a Classy Dame
As a long time fan of Harto, I was so excited to see she was releasing a book, and immediately preordered it. Fast forward a few months to it appearing on my desk at work (deliveries at work are so much more exciting, amirite?), whereupon I immediately tore open the packaging and dove in.Look, don't buy this expecting a cookbook, though there are some really effective drunk "recipes." (The taquitos recipe! I love it!) It's better if you approach this book as a way of opening your mind to the ingredients you have and the things that you can make with them. Also, life lessons. Like "take the ingredients you have and see what you can make with them." Whoa. That's deep.Seriously though, this book is full of beautiful photos (many of the lovely Ms. Hart, who I just want to hang with - How cool is she?!), and insights on life. Your mileage may vary as far as cooking, but if you enjoy MDK, you know -- Cooking isn't about the result, it's about the journey.Boo-boo~!

Enjoyable for fans of Harto
This is a fun book if you're a fan of Hannah Hart. Her witty and silly humor shine through these "recipes" that help you get through life. I enjoyed reading this.

Harto Smarto, Let's never be Aparto!
Now you don't have to be! It's Hannah in book form which you can bring anywhere!I really can't say enough about my love for Hannah Hart. From YouTube, to her charitable spirit, and now, to print!!!Neil Gaiman's blurb on the back cover really says it all: "I defy anyone to read this surprisingly useful book and not come away from it madly in love with Harto, hoping against hope that one day she will turn up, with alcohol and honesty and a heaped pile of humor, in your kitchen too."This is it exactly. Her combo of humor and real honesty leaves me wanting more, a full out, real-life conversation and friendship, because it's clear what an amazing person she is.Right, right. The book. This isn't a review of HANNAH. Sorry...Still, what more can I even say? Get it! I love it!! And I honestly believe you will too!

More than just a cook book.
I wasn't sure what I was expecting when I bought this book. I've seen Hannah Hart's YouTube show, and I've seen how mind-altering substances can affect cooking skills. I also wasn't completely sure if she wrote this book sober. However, when I first opened my copy of My Drunk Kitchen, I was surprised to see that it was a mind-altering substance of its own. Not only does it have a few actually delicious and creative recipes in it, but it has a few gag ones. Most of all, it has a lesson to learn on every page. I found myself reading this cook book as a novel rather than skipping to my favorite recipes. I laughed, I cried, I got extremely hungry and made a cake out of several frozen pizzas. Overall, I give this book a 5/5. I'd give it more, but apparently that is not an option, AMAZON.

Not my cup of tea, may be yours
I didn't know exactly what I was buying when I picked this book up. Had I seen her YouTube channel, I'd never have gotten this. It's a mix of bad drunk cooking and affirmations. I'm sure a lot of people would enjoy it, but I thought I was buying an actual cookbook. I'd have rated it lower, but I realize that much of the fault lies within myself for not reading up a bit on what the book actually was. The writer, Hannah Hart seems like a fun person, like someone you'd want to be friends with.

Don't let the word 'Drunk' in the title scare you, Hannah Hart is FAR more.
Fantastic book from a fantastic individual! I pre-ordered as soon as I could. And I'm very glad I did. Hannah Hart is downright amazing, and her book captures her voice perfectly. I found myself laughing out loud on several occasions while reading, just as I do when watching her channels and other projects she is involved in. I am looking forward to trying out The Hart-wich, which was featured in an episode Jamie Oliver's YouTube cooking channel, (if you're need a some sort of validation that Hannah is qualified to write a cookbook, or something ridiculous like that). This book captures the innate balance of semi-unintentional inspirational advice and kind words of wisdom Hannah peppers with puns that we've come to know and adore.Hannah, if you're reading this, well done. We're proud of you. Keep chasing your dreams, we've got your back. Go for it.

I love Hannah Hart
I love Hannah Hart! I've been watching her YouTube channel for a couple months now, and I liked it so much that I preordered her book when I was able. If you are expecting a cookbook with the usual information on what proportions you need for the ingredients, and direct instructions on how to actually make said ingredients into a delicious meal, then you don't know Hannah Hart. However, if you enjoy witty humor, alcohol, learning interesting facts (especially about Hannah), how to create improv dishes that will turn out pretty darn delicious, and maybe a life lesson or two, then this book is for you! I've read it cover to cover in just a couple days, and my next trip to the grocery store I plan on getting what I need in order to make some of the recipes that I'm really excited to try and make!

Uplifting and Funny
Hannah Hart is a powerful positive voice who always tries to see the best in people and this book is no exception. Her recipes in this book are about more than just food, they're about handling the inevitability of life's problems and the comfort that you're not alone in them. The recipes featured in this book are not exact but rather creative, and this seems to mirror the idea that everyone handles life differently and the 'recipe' for the solution to someone else's problem may not fit yours. Read this book, take the advice, add personal experience and common sense to taste.

A Feast of Fun
This is a sheer festival of fun. It reminds me of my life-time desire from childhood to my now extended years, attempting to be something of a cook. Admittedly, my earlier years lacked the stimulation of alcohol, but this book is one woman's experiences of trying to tackle edible offerings whilst enjoying herself; different yet totally honest of the outcome. Those who are not budding celebrity chefs will probably identify and laugh along, as you surely will, with Hannah's exploits. She admits, although it doesn't take rocket science to work out, that nothing she attempts is ever really original. Her book, however, certainly is.Her views on procuring loving relationships via the stomach and how to hang onto them, (love not gastric banding), are hilarious. Her descriptions of the effect of alcohol on the body are similarly humorous, 'a face like a sweaty tomato when the bar closes and the lights come on'.Hannah Hart has produced a book lavishly illustrated with her anecdotes, advice, photographs, misfortunes, dodgy recipes, calamities: you name it and it is within the covers of this wonderfully entertaining book. Warmth and love of life radiantly come through. Keith Floyd would have loved it too.

Even as a foodie and serious cook, it's my favourite cooking book!
This book never fails to make me laugh!! I treat it like a short stories book, and occasionally open a random page/recipe, which ends up brightening up my mood! Hannah Hart is witty, funny, and has a mysterious way of giving you life tips through her inedible recipes!! Ok I say inedible, there are a few relatively good ideas there haha but if you are a serious foodie, this is not a cookbook!Let me explain: Each recipes spans over one or two pages. For each recipe there is an accompanying cocktail/drink recommendation, ingredients (never too serriousssss) and plenty of puns, comedy and picture, with life tips inserted there in a beautiful fashion. It also helps if you've watched Hannah Hart's videos on youtube so you can envisage in what style the book it written!Cons: It's not a 'serious' recipe book, but a creative pun sarcastic funny one :) which is not really a Con but just a FYI!PS this book most definitely does not belong in the kitchen but in your backpack, car or wherever you can access it for a quick cheer me up laugh!!The book is of great quality,

I read this cover-to-cover as soon as it arrived. I'm a huge fan of Hannah Hart, not just because she's hilariously entertaining but because she also has so many positive things to say and cares enough to share them with others. You may not learn great culinary skills from this book but it will leave you with a warm feeling in your hart-o (boom boom). Funny, honest and life-affirming, just like the author. So good I hugged the book when I was finished.

This was a funny read when I bought it but really has become a dust-collector on my shelf as there are no really great recipes that can be made from this. It isn't really a cookbook as opposed to Hart's opinions on food in a book. A good buy if you like her style though.

Best Present of the Year!
I bought this as a gift for my best friend who had mentioned Hannah's book and YouTube channel before. She loves the book and talks about it profusely sparking my interest in Hannah Hart. After buying it, I decided to check out Hannah's channel and have been hooked to My Drunk Kitchen since, having now watched all past episodes! Would definitely recommend it to anyone who is a YouTube enthusiast or knows someone who is!
