I have searched for this also and cannot find where to buy an extra cover

Inside Bolsters: 40"L×30"W. * To find your dog's correct bed size, measure your dog from his nose to his rump. This is your dog's body length measurement. For beds with bolstered sides, choose a bed with an interior sleep space (inside the bolsters) that is NO MORE THAN 2 INCHES SMALLER than his body length measurement. If your dog's body length measurement is between sizes, always choose the larger sized bed. Weight, or breed, has absolutely nothing to do with choosing the correct size/length of bed that your dog needs. Weight only matters when choosing the type (polyfill or foam?), thickness (2 inches or 4 inches?), & density (ILD rating?) of the bottom mattress supporting your dog's weight.

Q: My bed just arrived, but it doesn’t seem that the liner is in the box. The memory was was packaged in plastic, but that can’t be the liner, right?

It may be, because our bed was the same & the liner does sound like a plastic bag under the cloth cover. We had to put a comforter on top of it so our fur baby would lay down. If it has any type of zipper, then yes it's the inner lining, if not, then contact the company so they can send your liner out. Good Luck

Q: How thick is the memory foam in the bed? What are the bolsters filled with?

The memory foam is about 4". There is some kind of foam in the bolster (it's one piece), but it has a cover so I can't tell exactly what it is. It does hold up wel, though. My 70 pound dog likes to rest his head or his arms (yes, arms) on the sides and it goes back into it's original shape.
