Encyclopedia of Nutritional Supplements: The Essential Guide for Improving Your Health Naturally

I have grown weary of Health Shop and pharmacy employees whos expertise is limited to certain areas of medication and their interactions. I take many suppliments and could not get accurate information on interactions, and other detailed information necessary to make good informed choices. Until now. At times like this, I wish I'd gone to med school, or been a journalist, to be able to accurately and succinctly review this excellent book. Suppliments and other medications can be dangerous together, and it is imperative to be informed, so as to only take what's both necessary and healthful. At last a book that covers EVERY aspect of supplimentation, and nutritional therapy. It accurately covers interactions, ACCURATE dosage, and dangers associated. If like me, you are bombarded with information from the bottles of companies desperate to sell you their product, regardless if you really need it or not.. then this book will be a breath of fresh air for you. Nothing is left out, only pertinent information left in. A real treasure for the health conscious.

I did not realize that this edition has a copyright of 1996 so it is not quite as up to date on supplements like D Ribose. Having said that, all of Dr. Marray's books are goldmines of information and excellent references.

While this is not a book I would read from cover to cover, it will be a very useful reference book - which is why I bought it.I have had a look through it and I think it is just what I need.

A little outdated

I am a Holistic Nutrition Sudent and this was a required book. It is Fabulous ! Well laid out with amazing information. Easy to find what you are looking up and not complicated terminology. Anyone intrested in wanting to decode supplements should get this. I was taking Way tooo much Vitamen D. good stuff to know.

I love how its laid out and was a very good start to my new adventure into natural medicine. Plus the author is the same person who co-wrote the text book used for naturopathic medicine.

All I can say is EVERYTHING is in this book, a total must have. Has a great index in the back to help you look up everything you are looking for.

Great reference with lots of information.
