Silicon mat is non-conductive
Silicon mat is non-conductive so the lead to ground is the only part that is. My Fluke 8060a is old, but very sensitive and there's no resistance to be measured, no conductance, so is the mat really anti-static? The wrist strap has 1MOhm resistance so that's good. The metal back of the snap connection is all that grounds you, there's no conduction in the band itself so keep the metal in contact. I suppose frequent touching of the alligator clip on the mat will have to suffice for grounding at the work surface. It is nice, the circuit board doesn't want to slide like it does on my wood workbench top so that's a plus. Not a bad set for the money, I'll use it, but wish the sillicone was conductive.

Actually Static Dissipative
Thought for sure such a cheap product would not actually be conductive, especially for "silicone", but it is! Checked with a proper 500 volt mega-ohm meter, it reads 20-100 megaohms depending on distance and contact surface area etc. It also holds up to a 400C soldering iron for at least a few seconds, I didn't push it.It does have a faint odor when first pulled out of the packaging. I assume its whatever additives they need to put into it to make it conductive (simply adding graphite in silicone would not work) and more heat resistant than normal silicone.

Just what I needed
I was looking for a static mat to upgrade my memory and ssd on a new gaming laptop I recently purchased. I purchased this mat mainly due to the reviews. I am very happy with the quality and the size. Perfect for what I needed.

Grounding Leads are Short
Seems like a serviceable anti-static mat, but the leads to ground both for the mat and the wrist band are really short, the only way they don't end up super stretched is if the outlet is up on a wall (such as on a kitchen counter), otherwise it'll be too much of a stretch without a power strip or something else.
