SLICES BEAUTIFULLY THROUGH FLESHY RIPE TOMATOES AND THIN PAPER
This is an 8 inch chef knife by Akinly with a damascus blade. (I took close up photos so you can see the details of the handle and blade. Let me know if you find them helpful.)I got this knife after using a similar knife that I found pretty impressive. The other knife didn’t have a damascus blade and so I thought I’d get one with that type of blade It comes in a nice storage and gifting box that has the brand name in silver foil. The interior of the box has high density foam. The handle is in beautiful wood with a stainless steel butt. It fits nicely in my hand. The blade is gorgeous with a damascus pattern that’s not etched! Most importantly is that the blade is extremely sharp and slices through the most delicate food with precision and slides right over the blade with smoothness of butter. My usual test is to try knives on tomatoes that are ripe and soft. If it can slice cleanly through the skin of the tomato without causing the soft interior to dent and if the slice has clean sharp edges and is able to retain the shape of the tomato, it passes my test. And this knife is able to do that extremely well. The knife glides through without catching or stalling. I also like to cut through a piece of paper to check the edges of the paper. It cuts through without leaving any micro-saw tooth edges. It’s definitely the sharpest blade in my kitchen and only time will tell how well the blade keeps its edge.

Very good knife
The sharpest knife I have ever owned, and it has held its edge well. My only mild complaint is that the blade is a bit narrow top to bottom to use as a chef's knife, because it doesn't rock back and forth as well as my Victorinox chef's knife. More of a combination chef and slicing knife. But the blade is terrific and the handle is substantial and comfortable.

buy it.
super sharp. Thinner blade than a Shun, which I like. It has a little give to it which I prefer, and is also half the price. I've been an executive chef for many years and it amuses me that so many people think the world revolves around Henckels, Wusthofs, Shuns and Globals. It doesn't. Not that those aren't good knives, but this thing is at least as good or better. I own some of everything (little knife fetish I have) and this one is gorgeous. It's light for a damascus, which is fantastic if you have to cut 100 pounds of asparagus, it has some flexibility if you are cleaning flank steak or skinning fish, and it's extremely pretty.

Five Stars
Super sharp! Rusts if kept wet, as some knives do, but overall a very sharp and nice knife.

Amazing knife!
Love it so far!! I work in a kitchen and this knife is amazing. It cuts tomatoes and apples like butter. Even paper is effortless to cut through from the middle. The blade might look too small for the handle, but it's definitely not.
