good entry level bike
After about a month and 130 miles of use, I feel I have a good enough idea of the pros and cons of this bike. The battery has a pretty good charge life as long as you're on a flat road. If you try to throttle uphill, you will quickly see how bad the power drain is. Pedaling helps, but trying to minimized elevation changes is important. The above is most likely due to the relative entry level electric motor, and more importantly, the bike is very heavy. A typical mountain bike is 29lb or so. The question answered here said the SM26 is 46 pounds. Gravity kicks in from there. It struggles, but in a consistent manner, with hills. This isn't untowards for an ebike (how much can I expect?) and it seems like it outperforms at the price point.I keep up easily with people that have a bike around here (who generally overpaid for local stuff), at half the price or less, and it feels good.I had initially an issue with the 20mph throttle limit, but finding the other instruction manual online with the REAL menu settings including the advanced settings list let me adjust the maximum throttle to 25mph. 20 seemed too slow and I often bumped up against it, but 25mph is perfect for short distance trips that I can charge between. It chugs battery at PAS5 of course, and one can conserve at PAS3 going at just 15mph, but being able to go 25mph with no assist is very appealing and very nice. If you want to do the same, look up instruction manuals for the samebikes. The one that comes with some of the bikes is truncated and very useless. This is a very good bike at the pricepoint, initially it seemed to cost $1500 as another review said, and that would have been overpriced. $1000 + shipping is perfect for this bike and is a fantastic entry level if you aren't quite sure but aren't convinced enough to invest 2-3k at the getgo. I am certainly looking forward to getting a better bike now, but the samebike performs admirably regardless.

Excellent entry level E-bike
I bought this bicycle sight unseen and having never ridden an E-bike. Being an avid cyclist for my entire life (50+ years) I was somewhat dismissive of electric bicycles. I thought it would defeat the purpose of riding a bicycle in many respects, as in I ride my bicycle for exercise as well as transportation. I was pleasantly surprised. You can get a great workout riding an electric bicycle, it just makes the ride a bit more enjoyable, a lot more enjoyable at times. I now have over 1000 miles on this bicycle, and I have owned it for less than 2 months. It is heavy, around 50lbs, but from my research all E-bikes weigh in that range. You can find lighter bikes but nowhere near this price range. The bike is basically a mountain bike design, no rear suspension, and a front fork with suspension, although not that impressive. It has 2.35 inch tires, fat, but not overly fat. It can go off road, but it is not really a rock climber. I bought this to be a multi purpose bike for commuting that could handle rough conditions. It is everything advertised. I have a lot of fun riding this bicycle. I have been riding it to work which is 13 miles away. I still have 50% charge after the round trip. I am using PS5 and hitting the throttle every now and then during that trip. I would estimate range is 60 to 100 miles depending on how much you use assist and throttle. I know I have gone over 60 miles on a single charge. Top speed is around 28mph once you change the settings. Pedal assist is smooth, the throttle helps boost whenever you need a little extra ooomph. I have not ran out of battery during a ride but I do not want to, the bike is heavy and not a blast to ride with no battery support. This bicycle has encouraged me to explore more ebikes. Customer support is a little sketchy, but available. I had a few issues but was contacted by the company through Amazon. Their website does not have a phone number, and my initial emails were not responded to off the website. Other than that I am very happy with this purchase. I am going to buy one for my grandson.

Out of box moter failure
In addition to the out of box motor failure I had to pay $350 to return the bike couple that with the $60 shipping cost when the bike was purchased and it cost over $400 and I have nothing to show for the money except a lot of wasted time assembling, disassembling, unpacking and repacking the bike. Apparently there is no Quality assurance from the factory. Too back I cannot give this bike and this seller the Zero star rating they deserve.

Highly recommend the e-bike store.
Revised...after putting nearly 300 miles on this bike on smooth rails to trails, controller failed. Display went blank and can not reset or get it operational again.Reported issue to seller and they said they would send a new controller. It took a while to get the new controller, but it did arrive as promised. Unfortunately, it did not solve the problem. Aothough the battery showed fully charged, after further diagnosis it appeared to not supplying the required full voltage to the bike. They said they could send a battery, or I could purchase one from Amazon and they would reimburse me. I did this, and new battery appears to solve the problem.Although it took a while to get the proper diagnosis, seller seller has been very responsive to emails and eager to help resolve the problem.Very impressed with the overall build quality and design of this bike. Had a minor broken part issue, but seller was quick to respond and ship out a replacement part. Packaging was excellent and robust, assembly was very easy. Bike is relatively light due to aluminum frame, but sturdy and suspension forks allow it to absorb bumps with comfort. Stock seat is comfortable, brakes work well. Would highly recommend this seller and the bike.

This is a great commuter bike
I've had this bike for about a 6 or 7 weeks and have already logged over 190 miles on it. The charge is long lasting and actually can regenerate while riding when it is not being strained. I live in an area with many hills and the power assist helps me to make it up them with greater ease. On flat roads, this bike cruises well in both the assist and throttle only modes. Assembly didn't take long and it came well packaged.
