Pete, we purchased 2 VuPoint Magic Wands an they are great. System requirements are windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Mac OS 10.5 or above. It can be saved as a jpeg or pdf. 3 image resolutions. Powered by rechareable lithium battery - long life.

YES, I connect to all of my Windows 10 machines. The device basically connects as a Flash Drive when connected to your PC, Laptop or USB enabled tablet and you download the files to any device.

Q: What is maximum size page in a book that acn be wand scanned in a single sweep? Can it do 8 1/2 x 14?

Maximum size page is 210mm(A4)with docking device. one side of paper should be smaller than 210mm. 8 1/2 inch is almost same as 210mm right? It means you can scan with this device. Ps. hand scan mod doesn't matter how much size of paper you have. But you need photoshpping to make a one piece of image.
